Taking on his shoulders the responsibility of the city’s sound and handling it with care and improvement, DJ Tay James. A DJ of varied tastes, he has been known to play a variety of styles spanning many different nightlife scenes, while keeping a real vibe to each environment he has encountered. His personal philosophy of “Entertainment meets Education†has been the foundation stone for his DJ sets, always carrying a mix a the known and unknown tracks varying in sound so nothing becomes droning or fusty. James continually draws inspiration from the world around him as well as DJs who impress him; he is a man who won’t become routine, or conventional.WHERE HE CAME FROM: 20- year- old Junior from Baltimore, Md. DJ Tay James became an intern for Unruly Production and Communications at the age of 16. Here, he was able to learn the business side of the music industry, and how to market a certain product to a specific region. During this internship he was able to release four mixtapes (for promotional use only) which allowed him to do various parties for nightclubs and high schools in the Maryland and DC area.WHERE HE HAS BEEN: Currently one of the most well-known DJs in the Hampton Roads (Virginia) area, with 20,000 + mixtapes circulating.
