About Me

Looptron is a collaborative project between North London-based guitarist Neil Sharkey and his laptop. Being a bit geeky, Looptron draws inspiration from the rise in recent years of solely computer-based recording and performance artists and a dissatisfaction with the state of songwriting in that same medium. Bleepy noises and scraped together beats are all well and good but if you can't sing along with the chorus, really, what's the point? Eh?

He's recently completed his debut EP Obsolete Before You Start. More details on that, and free MP3 downloads can be found at the "Hello, my name is Looptron" blog. (There's also an xml feed for you newsreader types.)

A reminder (about a gig).

Yes, I know there's a football match on Wednesday, but frankly this is the 151st time they've played each other and it's all getting a bit dull now. Besides, when we are living in a world where f***in...
