I know this says it is about Pastor Kevin and Vida, but it is actually more about me. Vida has her own awesome space that you can check out and find out all about her. It is a good subject so go check it out at www.myspace.com/vidaj Here is my take on life: Where we have been is not as important as where we are and where we are going! Have you ever wished you could live a life that was really complete? A life that was full of joy, peace, blessings, value, family, friends, and prosperity and on and on? Well that is our life. We figured out a long time of go that God has a plan and He is going to succeed and that He loved us enough to give us an opportunity to participate so we did! We have been married for 25 years, we have three wonderful daughters (you can find them on myspace if you know where to look) and of course our family would not be complete without Doodle our Yorkie. So life is good and we are loving it. I love outdoor activities such as softball, golf and hunting and Vida loves to sing, watch movies, crafts and her all time favorite activity is to SHOP! I do have one question that I would like to ask you since you are here already. If you were to die today are you 100% sure that you would go to Heaven? Hey, it is serious question. If you were standing before Jesus at the gates of Heaven and He asked you why He should let you in what would you say? Would you say that you have been good? That you never killed anyone? This is an important question to have an answer to. It is really simple though. It tells us in the Bible that everyone has sinned, you know messed up, lied, cheated, stole things or what not. It says we have all done wrong and the payment for our sin is we have to go to hell. Now I don't know about you but I consider that bad news. Relax though, it gives us the good news as well. The Bible says that anyone who will call upon His name will be saved... that means anyone who confess that they have messed up and decide to repent or turn from their wrong life style and can honestly say that they believe that Jesus died on the cross for them and rose again, that they can accept His price He paid for their sins and they get to go to Heaven. It is a free gift of salvation because Jesus really does love you. I mean can you think of any reason in your wildest imagination that you would want to spend an eternity in Hell? No...me either. So why not do what I did.. pray a simple prayer and just really mean it. It does not mean that you will not mess up in life, but you are saying that you will try to live the right life that God has for you. You get to go to Heaven because Jesus paid the price for your sins, you do not earn it or work for it. It is free. If you would like to do this then say this simple prayer: Dear Jesus, I confess that I have sinned, that I have messed up in my life. I ask you to forgive me of my sins and to come in and be a part of my life. Help me to live the life that you would have me to live as my Lord and Savior. Thank you...Amen. Now if you meant that prayer you will do 3 things. One, you will read your Bible daily, this is just God talking to you. Second, you will pray to God daily, this is just you talking to Him. Third, you will get involved in a good local church in your area. Your life will never be the same again! Congrats to you for making this decision.
