Pat Grant & the Blown Fuses

About Me

Pat Grant & the Blown Fuses are a Baltimore based indie rock band fronted by singer/songwriter Pat Grant. The group, which was formerly known as The Hackneyed & Svelte Club, was conceived by Pat Grant as a vehicle for bringing his often intimate songs to bigger and bolder proportions on the stage. The band has a revolving door policy in which various members have drifted into and out of the fold for various musical occasions. The band's members have always consisted of long time friends and collaboraters of Grant's, most of whom enjoy their own notoriety as both solo artists and members of other popular groups within the Baltimore rock scene. Grant has temporarily abandoned work on a concept piece about the emergence of MT6 records and is now working on new material for a 2nd EP for MT6 and the forthcoming Blown Fuses disc. He recently joined up with former Charm City Suicides drummer John Browning and subsequently recorded and produced the The Dawning Fears forthcoming disc Not All Is Lost which will be released by MT6. MT6 records is a Baltimore based indie label that supports some very interesting artists from parts as far away as Russia and provides an outlet for many great local artists as well.

Band Members: P.Grant - vox, guitar; Bill Chester - bass, vox; Rob Twist - drums
Influences: anything bad for you and sex.
Sounds Like: Guitar, bass and drums... sometimes sloppy and reckless, sometimes neat and pretty. On The Apogee & The Entropy listeners will find a song cycle that touches on garage rock, power pop, punk, folk and piano balladry. Most of what I listen to is r and b and soul and stuff from the rock era: Ramones, Cars, Stones... singer/songwriter stuff, indie, folk. I have no shortage of attention span for all the great post punk and pop stuff from the 80's and I'm constantly perusing old record racks for anything from that era... things like Haircut One Hundred, Boomtown Rats, Nick Lowe... so inevitably this is the kind of stuff I would hope we sound like on record.
Record Label: MT6 records
