The Emperials

About Me

Bristol based 8 piece band; The Emperials are now the major force on the UKs first and second generation ska scene. The Emperials have built up a live reputation second to none with an ever increasing following on the local and national scene.
The rock solid drums, pounding bass, skanking guitar and keyboard/hammond provides the cracking basis of the band. The tightest and most energetic brass section in the land adds the blasting horn lines, and it's all topped off by strong and versatile lead & backing vocals.
Their first gig, a support slot with The Selecter and the Ska Divas, consisting of Pauline Black, Rhoda Dakar (The Specials and the Bodysnatchers) and Jennie Bell (The Bellestars), set a live precedent and the band were starting to get noticed. Since then, The Emperials have shared the stage with legendary acts such as Roddy Radiation from The Specials, Desmond Dekker, Bad Manners, The Selecter and The Beat, all to great success, with Ranking Roger from The Beat asking how do we follow that? after a fantastic support set.
Their own Headline shows, in the Wests top live music venues and beyond, are always a great success. With a set consisting of cracking covers from the days of 2tone, Trojan and Studio One, and a selection of quality originals, they never fail to fill a venue, get the dance floor packed and the crowds singing, dancing and shouting for more.
The Emperials played their first Scooter Rally at The Winter Warmer Scooter Rally at Hemsby, 2003. Despite being the opening act, they went down as one of the best of the weekend. Following their success they were invited back to Headline the Rally in 2004, what a night! The summer of 2004 also saw the Emperials headline slot at the BSRA National Scooter Rally in Exmouth. After a short break from the live scene, 2005 saw 2 triumphant gigs at The Modrapheniacs scooter Rally celebrate their return. 2006 saw the band go from strength to strength, spreading to new venues across the country, with the highlight of the summer a headlining show at The Newt Festival with over 8000 in attendance.
The success of The Emperials looks set to continue in the future, with ever increasing demand for gigs at venues, Scooter Rallies and festivals around the country, the ska train keeps on rolling
