On the outside looking in from the heart of the south, the home of Crunk and Snap music, comes the self proclaimed “Hipsta & A Gentleman†artist C.H.A.N.C.E. (Cause Hope Ain’t Never Came Easy). Armed with incredible wordplay and range , Chance is ready to take the world by storm.Influenced by Sugar hill Gang, Run DMC, Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock, Chance wasn’t your ordinary kid from the hood, also listening to Rock/Pop Groups like Soft Cell(Tainted Love) Daft Punk, Green Day, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Escaping his poverty stricken reality through comic books and Japanese Anime (Manga). Growing more and more in tune with hip hop, Chance became influenced by the messages of Tribe Called Quest and Digable Planets, the Swagger of Biggie and Jay-z and the lyrics of Nas.In 2003, Chance signed with Hunnedspoke Entertainment, a local record label headed by CEO’s Kevin Davis(Big Kev) and Calvin Lane (Drupy). Together they formed a group “The Spoke†a spin-off of the label’s name and released a number of projects for which Young Chance would make standout appearances. Grasping his swagger and coming into his own as a performer, Chance has awed audiences at the 2008 Southern Entertainment Awards, opened up for southern-rap legends UGK and has shared the bill with acts like JC (Block Ent./Bad Boy), Usher’s Flagship R&B group One Chance, and Akon’s signees Rock City as well as several venues in the Southeast Region.In 2008, Chance begin to expand his platform, combining his unique hipster style and incorporating it into his music. He is currently working on his debut album Moment of Truth, which is a personal concoction of the things that affect Chance’s everyday way of life, as well as touching on the issues of the day. You can feel his passion for the music right out the gate on the tracks like “Soul Speech†and “ Moment of Truthâ€, as well as his diverse musical influences on songs like “Cosmopolitan†and “Dojo“.Chance is also a fashion designer at heart, that is well exemplified in his own clothing brand “Marti Mcfli†which is set to debut in 2008. It incorporates 80’s hip-hop flair, with street couture. A nod to Chance’s “passion for flashing†in the works is a bio-documentary titled “A Hipsta & A Gentlemen†showing the growth and road bumps one must travel when beginning a clothing line or any entrepreneurial Endeavour for that matter.With a love for a genre on the low end of its run, Chance is a determined to succeed, with the mindset that failure is never an option and success is earned through consistent effort. It is clear to see why he is one of the new voices of the youth.
