About Me

The Dynamic Thrills
Biography
“NOT ENOUGH SPACE HERE TO CONVEY THE HOTNESS” Rave Magazine
Imagine Salvador Dali, Lee Scratch Perry and Iggy Pop thrown into a mixing vat with a Haitian Chango cult, a space echo and a teaspoon of lysergic acid. It might just sound like Brisbane’s most intriguing musical export - The Dynamic Thrills.
These heavyweights of croon pop, ill dub and thumping dancehall are at the forefront of the Australia’s current reggae explosion and are responsible in part for landmark festivals such as Kuranda Reggae, Island Time and Reggaetown.
Fronted by ex Hot Rubber Glove bassist Quinalez and ragga star D-Kazman, the band is comprised of some of Brisbane’s most prolific and original performers including Paulie B - guitar (george, Pangaea), Dal Smart – drums (H.R.G., Schoolfight), Ange Gadd – trombone, Andy Donald – Keys (Kafka, Freaky Lou) and Micos Grayson – bass.
Since forming in 2004, the Dynamic Thrills have played alongside the Mad Professor, Cornerstone Roots and the Red Eyes. They have released an EP ‘Dynamic Dub’, and a full length album ‘Babylon Hot’ on independent label RudeKat Records.
Their irresistible tune ‘It Ruff’ has been enjoying high exposure on Triple J and reggae/roots programs around Australia. The track is now accompanied by a fantastic new animated video, viewable on YouTube, Myspace, and aired on Rage and Nightlife.
