This page is for the roller skating group known as "The Looney-tics". The group was formed by Barrett Bailey and Allison Kirk. They were trying to think of something fun to do as an alternative to Montgomery's night life...or lack there of. They were also looking for a way to meet new people in town and get back in touch with old friends. After a short session on the computer, the group was formed and has been gaining in popularity ever since. The group is for people of all ages, but most are 21 and older. Here's how the group works...Every friday night at 7:30, members from the group meet at Looney's Skating rink in Montgomery Alabama. The cost for the night of skating is only six dollars, which includes the rental of either roller skates or roller blades. Members usually stay till close which is 10:30. Afterwards the group usually heads out to some venue around town to have a drink or laugh it up at some kareoke bar.Roller skating is a great way to burn calories and get in shape. On average, skating burns around 600 calories an hour. Its also a great way to spend a friday night out with your friends as well as your kids. Many members have kids and this is something that the whole family can go out and participate in as well as being with friends. So if you are interested in meeting new people, old friends, and burning off some calories in the process, become a friend of the Looney-tics and come on out!
