Ken Wright is a native of Seattle and began studying violin at the relatively ripe age of 11. By age 17, Ken was Concertmaster of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and the winner of the Seattle Young Artists Concerto Competition, where he performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.
He studied at the University of Washington with Maestro Vilem Sokol and Steven Staryk.
Mr. Wright has become a prolific performer and recording artist, and in 2005, he was featured in a Showtime documentary. He is a member of the Spokane Symphony, Auburn Symphony and serves as Principal Violin II of the Yakima Symphony Orchestra.
He is also the concertmaster of the CrossSound Festival Sinfonietta, and was recently awarded a substitute position in the Oregon Symphony.
Ken Wright has performed with many celebrated and legendary artists, including Jennifer Hudson, Erykah Badu, Patti LaBelle, Anne Murray, Chaka Khan, Joel Grey, and Stevie Wonder.
Ken plays on a 1935 violin made in Canada by J.R.T. Freeman, from a pattern of Joseph Guarneri del Gesu.
