Many great horror films were either shot in NYC, NYS, or take place here. A sampling of them are: the Dakota in NYC (setting for Rosemary's Baby, and site of John Lennon's tragic murder), Amityville in Long Island (home of the Amityville horror), the village of Sleepy Hollow and Glens Falls (site of Sleepaway Camp) in spooky rural upstate New York. The Brooklyn Bridge in ZOMBIE, the subways in MANIAC, Times Square in Basketcase and Jason Takes Manhattan, and DUH, the Empire State Building in KING KONG anyone?
