We Are Not A Record Label..
First and foremost, Rebellious Jukebox is NOT a record label: Why? Record labels are passé and we want to do something else: It is, however a collective of like-minded musicians, artists and thrill-seekers: We all love promoting music and musicians, art and artists; we still like gorgeous record sleeves and posters; we still like putting on gigs - we also just happen to believe that the oldschool record “industry†needs to change or die..
So far we have released ten ‘records’ as part of our opening manifesto – all available as limited edition hand packaged CDRs as well as digital downloads via the Creative Commons Licence.
They include a heady mix of masculine/feminine, passive/aggressive, funny/heartbreaking, but most of all with a shared sense of something different

Rebellious Jukebox is also a website - more specifically, a hub/portal for all things related to the above projects, and a whole lot more beside. We have already commissioned a variety of writers and thinkers to contribute articles, reviews, interviews on everything from Marcel Duchamp to the colour of our artist's socks (mine are mostly monochrome). Watch this space in the coming weeks/months for a veritable treasure trove of written/spoken/sonic/auditory delights…
