***Exit 24 started in may 2003 when college friends Dan Miller (vocals) and James Packer (drums) came together with Richard Sleeman (lead guitar), Dans long term friend. A bassist was needed so Ben Gifford filled the roll.***A few months later Exit 24 were in the studio for the first time. Four tracks were recorded at Harte Studios near Wells. These were Alone, Love on its Side, Child Labour and Waking Time. After the recording Ben moved from playing bass to rhythm guitar. Rosie Jago, one of James drum students who also played bass, was brought in on bass guitar.***In March 2004 Exit 24 were back in the studio. This time the band used Beehive Studios near Bridgwater. Four more tracks were put down. These were Frozen Dreams, Home, Minger and Looking Back. These were included with tracks from the previous recording sessions and a 9 track CD titled Frozen Dreams was compiled.***Summer 2004 the band moved onto the Bristol music scene with gigs at The Toad, Mr Wolfs, Metropol and the Arc Bar. With the fan base growing coaches were regularly organised to up to Bristol for Exit24 gigs.***In September Exit 24 were entered into The Ian Ritchie Talent Show. In the final Exit 24 were last on stage, performing in front of a packed Strode Theatre. The song Princess, written about a very close friend of the band who they lost earlier that year was the song they chose to play. Exit24 were announced as the winner of the judges Special Award.***Also in September bassist Matthew White was brought into the band to replace Rosie. This brought a more experimental sound to Exit 24 and was when the unique Exit 24 sound that Is still evident was developed.***Exit 24 entered the studio once more at the end of November to work on six new tracks; Eye of the Storm, Money, Princess, Monster, Blue Eyes and Watching the World. The recording was completed in January 2005 and was mixed and mastered at Beehive throughout February. The six new tracks were added to the four tracks previously recorded at Beehive. This was 10 track album URF Y-ER limited to 1000 copies released on 14th March 2005.***Summer 2005 saw more Bristol gigs at the Louisiana, Bunch of Grapes and The Fleece as well as slots at the Blandford Festival and the Ashcott Beer Fest.***In July, Exit 24 were put in the top 3 unsigned bands in the South by NME in a competition sponsored by lee jeans. They were asked to perform on the beach in Brighton courtesy of this competition along with the top 8 unsigned bands in the UK.***A good summer was followed by a break for a few months whilst the band searched for a new guitarist. In early 2006, Bianca Rossiter was brought in as a second guitarist. This lineup only lasted a few months before the band went back to being a 4 four-piece.***In April 2006 the band entered the Rock Gardens Battle Of The Bands in London. Exit stormed through the first heat with the judges giving them the highest score out of all 50 bands who entered the competition. However, in the semi-final exit went out to the eventual winners. This was nevertheless a great experience for the band.***During the summer of 2006 Exit 24 played many shows around Somerset, Bristol, Bath and Dorset. These shows included a headline slot on the main stage of the Bournemouth Live Music Festival.***Exit 24 continue to develop their unique style of music whilst maintaining their energetic live performances.
