About Me

Alex Evans

Bass guitarist with British rock band, Moke, who released two albums and a handful of singles, most notably 'My Degeneration' which reached no. 17 on the US Billboard chart in 2001.
Moke formed in London, England in 1997 and comprised John Hogg (Vox), Sean Genockey (Guitar), Alex Evans (Bass) and John Morgan (Drums). Moke quickly signed to London indie label, Dorado, the band recording and co-producing a critically acclaimed debut album, Superdrag (1998). This led to a lucrative US recording contract and a second album, Carnival (2001), relased on Ultimatum / Artemis Records. Live performances were always Moke's tour-de-force and the band toured the UK, Europe and the US extensively throughout their career with many acts including The Black Crowes, Goo Goo Dolls, Tonic, Kings X and Senser.
Following Moke's split in 2002, Alex worked as a music buyer for Virgin, and has created music and sound design for multimedia and games companies.
Alex currently divides his time between composing, session work as a bassist / keyboardist, and lecturing University students on the finer points of composition and sound recording techniques.
