Friction started as a loose, casual gathering of some of the New York/New Jersey areas top performing and recording musicians... but it has quickly turned into a tour-de-force of powerful, in-your-face rock and roll.All four members of Friction are former major label recording artists. They've worked with top producers, done major tours, been on MTV, and played in every type of venue imaginable. Their experience in the studio, combined with their stage experience, have given them the "edge" that many of today's new groups lack.Band visionary Stevie D. is legendary in the region as the producer of many top area bands, out of his state-of-the-art Sound Spa Studios. His edgy guitar riffs are the basis for the Friction sound, and his production takes the tracks to the next level. His studio skills have been honed from time spent working with artists ranging from the heavy sounds of Overkill to the soul of Corey Glover (Living Colour), to the pop of Cyndi Lauper and Laura Branigan. He has worked on projects for labels such as Sony, Atlantic, Arista, and Interscope.Drummer Billy Orrico lays down the backbeat for Friction. Billy toured the college circuit with a Mercury recording artist in the late '90s, and his work has graced the soundtracks of movies such as Men In Black II, Sleepy Hollow, Ice Age and Shaft. A mainstay on the local club scene, he is an in-demand session drummer on many local projects.Vocalist Christian remains an enigma to all but his closest friends. His persona is one of mystery and illusion, and his lyrics delve into the world of voids and spirituality. You won't find many love songs coming from the pen of Christian, as his mind travels in places most normal people never tread. His vocal expertise is without question; he has become legendary in the local heavy rock music scene, even sharing the microphone at times with New York Mets star Mike Piazza.Friction is poised to become a major force in the world of heavy music.
