A native of Buffalo, New York, DJ, producer, and remixer Paul L (aka P-LASK) has had a passion for dance music since the early 1990s. After being exposed to music from such electronica pioneers as Depeche Mode, The Prodigy, Future Sound of London, Daft Punk, BT, Orbital, and DJ mixes from the likes of Oakenfold, Sasha & Digweed, and Paul van Dyk, he became deeply enmeshed in the world of electronic music. His interest was sparked most by progressive house, trance, and electro. Once he had dabbled in the club scenes of such cities as Toronto and New York, Paul was inspired to take up DJing in 2002.
Paul has been spending the past 8 years building his record collection, refining his skills, and working at making his mark on the dance music scene. He has had mixes featured on the UK's Off The Chart Radio, Last.fm, Sirius-XM Satellite Radio, and the Pacifica Radio Network's syndicated "Trance on the Porch" mix show. During his college years in New York City, Paul played at several private parties and clubs, and he held a bi-weekly residency at Tavalon Bar in Manhattan's Union Square. After a successful two year stint spinning, producing, and remixing in Los Angeles, Paul has returned to New York to fuse the sounds of the west and east coasts.
As of late, Paul has been spending more time working on original tracks and remixes. He recently won a remix contest for LA-based indie band Divisible, and his remix of their track "Love is the Cost" has been selected for release on their upcoming remix EP. He has also produced remixes for London's up-and-coming pop/rock duo Edian, as well as Chinese pop singer Wei Wei. While in Los Angeles, Paul provided his DJ and production skills to the LA-based electronic rock band Scientific Lifestyle. Furthermore, he still co-produces for LA electro-pop project POINTE CLAIRE as a side project.
