INTRODUCTION:
It all started....
The Beatles were to be come the most famous band that drove a generation. This Band begun when John Lennon (b. John Winston Lennon, October 1940, Liverpool, England, d. 8 December 1980, New York, USA) formed a group in 1956 called the Quarry Men in Liverpool, England.

In July of 1957, Paul McCartey (b. James Paul McCartney, 18 June 1942, Liverpool, England) was introduced to john by a mutual friend. John was so impressed that Paul could play and knew all the lyrics to Eddie Cochran’s “20 Flight Rock” That he immediately asked hin to join. On February 6, 1958, Paul had a younger friend who also played guitar name George Harrison (b. 24 February 1943, Liverpool, England, d. 29 November 2001, Los Angeles California, USA).

From October 1959 to January 1960, John, Paul and George called themselves “Johnny and the Moondogs”. In May, 1960 they renamed the “Beetles” as a tribute to Stus favorite band. By this time John was enrolled in The Liverpool College of Art. John Knew that they needed a bass player, a student name Stuart join the group in January, 1960. At this time the group had changed the name to “Silver Beetles”. Finally, George suggested that Pete Best, the son of club owner Mrs. Mona Best, become the group’s drummer.

The group had finally settled on “The Beatles” just before their first trip to Hamburgo in August, 1960. After Hamburgo, Stuart had left and now The Beatles were a four. 1961, Brian Epstein introduced himself to The Beatles, after watching they perform at the Cavern Club in Liverpool.

In 1962 the band signed a management contract with Brian Epstein. On June 4th The Beatles sign with Parlophone Records a branch within EMI, George Martin became their A&R Man.

On June 6th they began their first recording session at the EMI studios. Later in August Pete is fire from the group and replaced with Ringo Starr (b. Richard Starkey, 7 July 1940, Dingle, Liverpool, England).

On October 5, 1962 their first single “Love Me Do”, was a modest hit. 1963 and 1964 proved to be the most important year in their careers.

In February of 1963 they record their first album, called “Please Please Me”. In May it reached the top spot. In the same year the “Beatlemania”. They were staring in the Royal Variety Show and the highest rating TV show “Sunday Night At The London Palladium”.

In November The Beatles give a Royal Command Performance in front of the Queen. At the end of 1963 The beatles released their second album, “With The Beatles”.

Their biggest year was 1964, when they conquered the biggest record marked in the world-America, I Want to Hold Your Hand was the ..1 spot on the America chart.

They later performed on the Ed Sullivan show to the largest viewing audience in television history. The same year the Beatles starred in their first motion picture “A Hard Day’s Night”.

Their third album was release along with the film in 1964. Then at the end of the year they released their fourth album, “Beatles for Sale”

In 1965 they received MBE’s (Members os the British Empire) from the British Crown, which created a stir in Britain as the honor was usually reserved for war heroes and other distinguished Englishmen.

In July, The Beatles second motion picture “Help” premiered, both Album and motion picture reach ..1. Later than year The Beatles performed at Sea Stadium in New York to a crowd of 55,000 screaming fans. The largest live audience in history. Near the end of’s 65 they release their 6th album, “Rubber Soul”, this album marked the transformation of their style and dept of meaning in their songs. It included new instruments and new influences on their music style such as Indian music.

In 1966, The Beatles were under heavy pressure from the press after John made a remark that The Beatles were more popular than Jesus. This year The Beatles performed their last concert in Candlestick Park, San Francisco. Their 7th album, “Revolver” continued or deeper in it’s meaning.

In 1967 The Beatles release their most influential and groundbreaking album, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. This album is thought to be by many the greatest album in history. They also perform on a globally televised special representing Britain and sing the song they wrote just for the program, “All You Need is Love” for an estimated audience of 350 millions.

On 27 August 1967, Brian Epstein was found dead, victim of a cumulative overdose of drug,

The first fruit of their post-Epstein labour was the film Magical Mystery Tour, first screened on national television on Boxing Day 1967.

In 1968, The Beatles became increasingly involved with the business of their company, Apple Corps. The first Apple single, “Hey Jude”. Their next film, Yellow Submarine, mas a carton. They release their 9th album titled “The Beatles” Knows as “The White Album”. Ringo had left the group during the session, so Paul had to fill in on some of the drum parts for the album. It had some brilliant moments that displayed the broad sweep of The Beatles talent.

After “The White Album” the members had begun to explore other musical avenues separately especially John who released an album with his soon to be wife Yoko Ono called, “Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins”.

The band come back together in 1969. They gave their last public appearance on top of the Apple building on January 30, 1969.

The Beatles decided to get together to make one final album “Abbey Road”, their biggest selling record in history.

The Let it Be album was finally released on May 8, 1970, less that a month after Paul publicly announced he was no longer a member of the group.

..

Since the break-up of the band, there have been some important releases for Beatles fans. In 1988 the two Past Masters volumes collected together all the Beatles tracks not available on the C.D. releases of their original albums.

The first volume of Anthology, released in November 1995, collected 52 previously unreleased out-takes and demo version recorded between 1958 and 1964.

The reaction to Anthology 2 was ecstatic. Anthology 3 could not improve upon the previous collection but were gems to be found.

In 1999, more mass media coverage came with the release of a remixed Yellow Submarine. The remaster film delighted a new audience stunned by its incredibly original effects. The following year saw further Beatles activity.

The Beatles are universally, become true legends and their music touched all our lives. They will always be the greatest rock’n roll band in the world...
