It's almost unreal how many
same ol' same ol' tunes hit the
airwaves these days...
Nobody's changed, nobody's forced to think.
J-Sweet, the
24 year-old
artist - producer - singer - songwriter - musician - father
&
Renaissance Man.
He came to "put a little paint where it ain't."
With a Triggastate State of Mind and a Trendsetter mentality, J-Sweet effortlessly goes from Pop to RnB to Hip Hop to Gospel. "You have to do this from your soul", says J-Sweet, "you can’t expect anybody else to love if you don’t." In his first release, Lately 2001, J-Sweet wanted a way to just "express himself." The new project, Slice of Life, is the long awaited follow-up. The album is an answer for the torn and confident. Mixing acoustic performances, live instrumentation, sultry melodies, sick production, dope pros, and most importantly CONTENT, Slice of Life is a breath of fresh air for people that have been choking on normalcy.
Born and raised in Triggastate, USA (aka Miami, FL) and growing up in church, J-Sweet has been playing piano, drums, and bass for the last fourteen years. But life doesn’t come equipped with stained-glass windows; everybody has a bitter cup to drink. With a passion for music it was only right that during his stay in Gainesville, FL (Graduate.Univ. of Florida. B.S. Adv.) he continue to nurture the gift that was inside. Producing for local acts, gigging, and recording just came natural. J-Sweet has produced for artists like the Triggastate Trendsetters, and Hack Nasty, and still flipped it for gospel artists like The Woods, Paul "PJ" Golatt, Bishop Carlos L. Malone, and the critically acclaimed play "Jesus for the People."
J-Sweet is currently the host of GRINDTIME Television and handles marketing and advertising for The Grind magazine. J-Sweet is also the owner of 828 Productions, a full service music production and recording company.
The boy's ready...
