Autumn, 1997
Change Up is founded by SATOSHI (Guitar/Lead Vocal) in Chiba, a prefecture north east of Tokyo. Change Up was initially a trio.
1999, August
1st maxi single [643] is released from School Bus Records. Original bassist Tomohiro leaves the band and was replaced by bassist SHIOMAN.
2000, July
Change Up's 1st Album [Free Style] was released, selling over 40,000 units.
2000, October
The band opened No Doubt 's Japan Tour at Zepp Tokyo. Change Up also opened for Less Than Jake 's Japan Tour at On Air East (Tokyo).
2001, March
The band performed as the opening act for Off Spring 's Japan Tour at Makuhari.
2001, Spring
Naoya (Tenor Sax), Ichiro (Alto Sax) leaves the band.
2001, July
Change Up releases 2nd maxi single [Crazy Ride] .
2001, September
2nd all nationwide Japan tour. The tour was an extreme success, selling out every show. The Shibuya show at Quattro (800 cap) sold out in one day; an exceptional feat to achieve for an Indies Band.
2002, March
3rd maxi single [Rodeo Queen] is released. This was an unusual collaboration with Natsu (ex- Sentimental Bus ) that suprised and impressed the audeinces. The maxi single included the song [Morning] , the promotion video featuring a guest appearance by an All Japan Motocross Rider.
2002, April
Supported the Korean punk band [No Brain] on their Japan Tour.
2002, August
Self organized and promoted a joint show, [VANS Mosh Ride 2002] at Sports Land SUGO (Miyagi Prefectrue). The event was the first official freestyle Motocross event in Japan.
2002, November
Released their 2nd LP [Heart Attack] . Opened for Reel Big Fish 's Japan tour. (Shibuya Quattro, Club Chitta Kawasaki, On Air Osaka). Reel Big Fish's member invited the band tour the United States.
2003, February
Change Up launches their 3rd nationwide Japan tour to support the LP, 21 shows in 20 cities. All shows were sold out, especially in Shibuya and Chiba where tickets sold out within a day.
2003, May
The band opens for SUM41 's Japan Tour at Tokyo Bay NK Hall. Change Up, now influenced by West Coast Labels (like Epitaph, Fat, Drive-Thru, Look Out), decides to establish their own label [Cordova Records] to spread their activities.
2004, February 12 & 13th
1st USA west coast tour. Live shows were held at Martini Ranch, Encinitas with Scarlet Symphony and the Plug Uglies and at Club Tremors with Get the Girl and The After Party. The tour proved that CHANGE UP can party-it up anywhere in the world!!!
2004, December
Releases 3rd Album, [Riverside County] .
2005, April
Begins a monthly performance for "Ball Park E Park LIVE!", an event that is held before and after the baseball games by Japan's Major league team [Chiba Lotte Marines] .
2005, August
CHANGE UP fulfills their dream by performing in the summer music event SUMMER SONIC '05 . Katz (Tb.) leaves the band afterwards.
2005, October
Releases 4th Maxi-Single [Green Jacket] .
2006, February
Release of 1st DVD [PARTY ROAD TOUR, U.S.A] , which features the live performances during the bands US tour, as well as hilarious footages of their escapades off the stage.
2006, July
Releases 4th Album [JOE & PONCHI]
2006, August
Performed at SUMMER SONIC '06 .
Begins JOE & PONCHI RECORD RELEASE TOUR .
