Upanotch Records is a Label that was started in 1999 by Terrell Cooper and Daniel Williams Jr. in Washington D.C. Lawrence N. Hardwick became a partner in 2004 and gave the label financial push with the help of Champaign artist Dj Asiatic, That Drank, Dre Bill, Identity, Prez, Lights Out, and the Brain Housing Group. After doing one of the biggest campaigns in Champaign (Hip Hop Rots Your Brain), the label was quickly targeted as media food for internet blogs, local award shows, radio, High School & University of Illinois assignments and newspapers. Upanotch has since then worked with major artist Chip-Fu (Fu-Shnickens), Young Capone(So So Def), Mr. Biggtime(1803 Records), Jak Frost, Shawnna of DTP, Arm & Hammer Boyz, Skamma and Dj Rasta Roots(Smokinneedles).
