I'd like to meet people who are searching for truth and have an open mind, even if you don't agree with my views. I would also like to meet people who are zealous for God and want to live lives that honor God. .. width="425" height="350" ..http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=55&chapte r=6&verse=2&version=47&context=verse
Dabouge ( http://www.myspace.com/dabouge ) The Who, The Blues Brothers AQUABATS, NOFX, Operation Ivy, AC/DC (mostly 70's) Me first and the Gimmie Gimmies, Five Iron Frenzy, Shiver, Kira's modern mourning ( http://www.kirarock.com/ ), I really liked squad 5-0's FIRST two albums. I like some metal like In Flames or At the Gates, and that technical difficulties song by paul gilbert (racer x) is AMAZING (seriously, check it out). I really like Reggae. I can find somthing I enjoy in ANY style of music. The sad truth is that there is only like 1-10% good music in any style and 90-99% total crappy rip-off bands. With me, it all really comes down to groove or agression. I love funk because it grooves. I love punk becuase of the energy. Thats why i like so many Red Hot Chili Peppers songs. They have both. In the past few years i've also been more and more turned onto melodic stuff (at first because of wearing black, which was an acoustic band i was in for about a year). I like alot of pretty music too. I wish all these bands would know the truth and make music that gives glory to God. Sometimes I can't just cant listen to music that has terrible negative lyrics that are not based on the truth of God. I do respect the bands and hope they will use their gifts to glorify the Giver of all good gifts.
The Office (U.S. version),"House", history and nature shows, but i don't have cable anymore, so i just watch Blockbusteronline dvd's. To be honest, I think a lot of those silly adultswim cartoons are hilarious.
The Bible. Translated as close to the original language as possible (more literal than not). Such as the English Standard Version or the New American Standard Version. Visit http://www.biblegateway.com C.S.Lewis like the skrewtape letters, Dave Berry Does Japan (hilarious!), Watchman Nee's "The Normal Christian Life" has been very helpful, but I still haven't read the whole thing. I read all of the Lord of the Rings after the first movie came out. I was working at a college deli and had a lot of down time during classes. I'm more likely to re-watch those movies than re-read those books again. But I liked both. I've pretty much stuck to the Bible lately. I like to dig in deep. Get out the Greek, Hebrew stuff, find other verses with the same content and Greek/Hebrew words, compare both sides of popular arguments... good stuff.
Jesus Christ for being crucified for my sins(plus for everything else He does/did), the Holy Spirit for producing men of valor such as Paul of Tarsus, John and Peter, and for guiding me and showing me the truth, God for everything (including begetting the above mentioned) anyone who obeys the Holy Spirit instead of conforming to human weakness, anyone who does the right thing even when no one is looking. My dad.)
You Are 50% Left Brained, 50% Right Brained
The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.
The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.
Are You Right or Left Brained?
Somthing my friend "Watchman" told me:
"God has been showing me more and more lately that we are all on the verge of a spiritual revolution. He is beginning to shake the earth and rattle the bones of Christianity, reawakening the Spirit within His children. Where once we were dead and numbed to His Ghost we will be alive and electrified with His power. Of course, not all of us have been lost within the wilderness, but, based on my experience, a lot of us have. Church, as we know it, is dead. Church, as God wants it, is just beginning to arise. Just last night I tasted of what I think He wants of us: people simply getting together under His name and spending time with Him, listening to Him, praising Him, obeying Him. All He wants is for focus to return to Him, away from the politics of organized church and back to the basics of Christianity. And I know this is happening. I can feel it. Everything that modern Christianity has been built on is crumbling, to be replaced by an older foundation, a deeper foundation, a foundation that goes all the way back to the time of Christ and even before. I keep feeling like we are returning to the way things were during the Biblical times. And that excites me, because I know, just like back then, there we will be John the Baptists and Pauls and Ezekials. There will be miracles and the spirit of God will be tangible and ubiquitous as air."
