About Me

Nine years ago, Rik Ducci began his career as a dj. Rik has been consistently active in his profession. His flavor and style can be witnessed in his live shows, mix-tapes, along with his fierceness in competitions. He also can be seen live and in action putting the mix down at the hot music spots in New Orleans such as the House of Blues, Club 360, and the Maple Leaf Cafe.Originally born in New Orleans, Rik spent his young adult years in Sacramento, California. Mixxula, a west coast legend, took Rik on as his protégé and is the person Rik gives much credit to for giving him his start. During this time Rik also attended Sacramento State University, on a basketball scholarship. While interning at a local radio station as a mix show dj, Rik along with Ibhro, a music director for New York's famous Hot 97, hooked up to create the Phlava Show, which turned out to be one of the hottest mix-shows in Northern California. Word quickly began to get around of Rik’s old school mixes and microphone antics, making him a very hot party commodity.Opportunity increased allowing Rik to work for several other radio stations doing mix shows. This was when Rik began recording mix tapes to satisfy this growing demand for his style. The first mix tape created by Ducci was with long time friend Skinny Al. The two further collaborated, producing a six- volume set of tapes, entitled “From the Soul.“In addition to the production of his first volume of tapes, Rik also did guest appearances with a few longtime friends, Mix Master Mike, and Apollo. Rik Ducci has also been fortunate enough to dj with and open for acts such as KRS-One, EPMD, Busta Rhymes, Lost Boyz, CampLO, Naughty by Nature and the late Big Pun.
