Wendel

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and of Haitian decent, Wendel moved to Miami in the eighth grade. His love for music first began when the junior high music teacher asked him to join the orchestra and choir group. Wendel's music life continued to expand while attending Hialeah High School.Upon graduation from high school, Wendel was accepted into the prestigious University of Miami School of Music. His love for electronic music began, and has never stopped.At the time, electronic music was primarily produced on vinyl records. While enrolled at UM, Wendel became the dance music buyer at Y & T Dance Music, one of the countries most prominent record stores and continued in this capacity for six years. Colleagues and friends recognized Wendel's taste in music, and influenced him to start DJing upon his graduation from UM.Wendel's career took off as a DJ. He became resident at the World Famous Edge Night Club in downtown Ft Lauderdale, and soon after was the resident at the Chili Pepper also in Ft Lauderdale.With a solid following, Wendel has played in clubs such as Liquid, Club Space, Mission nightclub, Billboard Live, Shadow Lounge, Voodoo Lounge, Stereo nightclub, The Saint, Sonar, and The Theater, Revolution, Nocturnal & Metropolis. His distinct style assured he was always in demand for parties including the Zen Festival, Ultra Music Festival, Candy Land, and Global Gathering.Wendel has played throughout Florida including Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Port St. Lucie, Naples, Key West, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Tampa and Orlando. Additionally, Wendel has played in Boston, Dallas, Houston, Seattle, Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Canada.The last few years have been filled with much success for Wendel. While his DJ career has continued to flourish, having released 3 full-length mixed CD's on Miami's own label Max Music entitled "The Dawning", "Emit" and most recently "Evolution of Breaks" released in Feb of 2001.As the vinyl buyer for Hardware World Productions, a major vinyl distribution company, Wendel has been able to share his musical knowledge nationally. Delivering beats that continue to devastate "ALL DANCE FLOORS".
