Sweet Catastrophe

i have an American dream, but it involves black masks and gasoline...

About Me

I wish I was special.

But I'm a creep.

I'm a weirdo.

Random (pointless) facts about me:

-My name is Alexa but you can call me Lexi as well.

-I am a proud vegetarian (on the verge of vegan) and animal rights activist.

-I am a feminist and there's a good chance you are too, even if you won't admit it.

-I'm a (soon to be) sophomore in college and I live in an apartment with my boyfriend, Harry.

-I have an obsession with brushing my hair, although it's gotten much better since I've cut it short.

-I'm deathly afraid of calling people, and I don't text.

-I am an ally to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex people, although I wish I was a better one.

-I'm addicted to lipgloss, chapstick, and the like. I seriously can't go like ten minutes without it.

-I don't drink, smoke pot, or do drugs of any kind, which makes me pretty much straightedge. But I do indulge in the occassional ibuprofen. ;) I don't care if you do any of these things, although i will get extremely annoyed with you if you keep telling me your stupid drinking stories.

-I spent most of my childhood in a boring small town and I pretty much hate it.

-I'm a bit of a dreamer and a hopeless romantic...

-I am probably the most pessimistic person you will ever know I know it's bad and I'm trying (sort of) to change.

-I love it when new people add me. I'm not too stuck up for that.

-I'm chronically tired, doesn't matter how much sleep I get.

-I seem to be very suseptible to any illnesses that are going around, I feel like it has been this way since I got mono in 10th grade.

-I have a weird obsession with the way people's eyebrows and teeth look, although neither of mine are all that great.

-I'm extremely lazy

-I wish I could be famous on myspace.

-My favorite serial killer is Jeffrey Dahmer.

-I can't stand having my hair the same color for a very long amount of time (about a month is the max).

-It makes me feel sick when people rub their feet against the carpet (feet just disgust me in general.

-I think if you get a mohawk you'll automatically look 100x cuter (only if it's a good one), and almost as cute if you get an emo cut.

-Bowling For Soup is my favorite band because they were my first. I also like tons of other bands (see music list for examples), so don't hate me because you think you're too hardcore to be friends with a bfs fan. But then again, why would I want to talk to someone like that?

-Almost equal to my love of Bowling For Soup is my love of any music that Andrew McMahon creates: Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin.

-I'm very opinionated and I will argue with your forever if you don't agree with me about something.

-I have extremely low self-esteem (but who doesn't these days?)

-I found the love of my life at age 15 and I am still with him.

-Telling me to not worry about something is like telling me not to breathe... It's impossible for me to stop and continue living.

-I love watching "what not to wear" even though I would be a perfect candidate for the show.

-I think it's amazing how someone who looks like me can blend in so well and become invisible, not that I would want to stand out.

-I get really annoyed when people add me and never read any of this crap.

-I pretty much never change my "layout" on myspace... I like it the way it is most of the time.

-I'm still trying to figure out exactly who I am... but the facts I've wrote down on this should at least give you a pretty good idea.

.:Which Something Corporate Song are You:.
KonstantineIt unfortunatly didn't work. And God, you both wish it had. You have to know that you will never forget them. It didn't work out but you learned from all your mistakes.
Distance is cute!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone! I'd like to meet people with awesome taste in music, animal rights activists, gay rights activists, feminists, weird people, fun people, open-minded liberals, straight edge people, outcasts, people who don't shove their beliefs down your throat, interesting people, emo kids (he he), people who will actually talk to me and aren't just adding me for more friends, intelligent people, and basically anyone else who wants to meet me

..

Music:

I really love music. It's a very large part of my life and has helped to shape me into the person I am today. I like punk/rock/emo bands, but they don't all have to be in those categories though. What I really love is lyrically and vocally driven music. Hearing someone's raw voice is amazing to me. I can't stand listening to the instrumental stuff for a very long amount of time. Some bands i like are:
-Bowling For Soup

-Jack's Mannequin

-Something Corporate

-Rise Against

-Alkaline Trio

-Anti-Flag

-Chiodos

and probably more that I can't think of. My tastes are always changing. I hate country music and most rap or pop
What ALKALINE TRIO song are you?
You are the Alkaline Trio song "Private Eye". First track off of From Here To Infirmary. Very good song, dark, gloomy and thought provoking.
I'm sexy!

Movies:

Tim burton movies: Edward Scissorhands (favorite), The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeny Todd, others... Johnny Depp movies: (including the Tim Burton ones) Secret Window, Benny and Joon, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Pirates of the Caribean (all 3), Blow, and many more that I can't currently think of... SLC Punk!, RENT, Office Space, Romeo and Juliet, Memento, The Butterfly Effect, Adam Sandler movies: The Wedding Singer, Big Daddy, Click, etc., Party Monster, Garden State, Anchorman, 40 year old virgin, Knocked Up, Zoolander, Bruce Almighty, Fight Club, Seven, The Mexican, Snatch, Serial Mom, all of the Saw movies, other random horror movies... I love movies so there are probably tons of others I haven't mentioned!

You are Heroin Bob!

Television:

Scrubs is my favorite show, and so is the X-Files! Then there's South Park, pretty much anything they show on vh1: Rock of Love, Flavor of Love, I love New York, The Surreal Life, etc., comedians on comedy central: Dane Cook, Jim Gaffigan, Steven Lynch, Demitri Martin, Mitch Hedberg, etc., CSI, That 70's show, My Name Is Earl, The Office, Mindfreak, Maury, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? (with Meredith oh yeah), America's Next Top Model, almost everything on TLC: Trading Spaces, Moving Up, 10 Years Younger, What Not To Wear, Flip That House, and prolly some more that I cant really think of right now... Most of the time, I hate the T.V., so I don't like to watch a lot of it. There are just a lot of different shows I like. Doesn't make a lot of sense, but hey, that's me.

Books:

I love reading. "The Talisman" by Stephen King and Peter Straub is my favorite book. Stephen King is by far my favorite author, I highly recommend the following books by him: Lisey's Story, Rose Madder, Cell, Insomnia, Hearts In Atlantis, The Talisman, Duma Key, Dreamcatcher, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, and probably more that I can't think of. A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, Animal Liberation by Peter Singer, Woman On The Edge of Time by Marge Piercy, Dean Koontz books: Velocity, Watchers, Whispers, From the Corner of His Eye, Brother Odd, Odd Thomas, some other ones. Heart Shaped Box and Twentieth Century Ghosts by Joe Hill. Patricia Cornwell books. Harry Potter books. I will seriously read anything... I'm sure there are a ton of other books that I like but don't remember the names.

Heroes:

Jaret Reddick cos he has made songs that have changed my life. (Not to mention Chris, Erik, and Gary)

Jaret

and Andrew McMahon because he writes some of the most beautiful songs ever that seriously touch my heart like no others can. I know it sounds really corny but I don't know how to explain it without sounding like that. Plus he was diagnosed with leukemia but still had a positive attitude, and he beat it! He is a very inspirational person.

Andrew in the hospital

Also, the Animal Liberation Front because they take direct action to save those poor animals! Don't get me wrong, I love PETA but I really respect ALF because they risk going to prison to save lives.

My Blog

Believe in me. Help me believe in anything. Cos I wanna be someone who believes.
