About Me

Myspace Layouts by Pimp-My-Profile.com

I am now on the downward hill slide towards turning 33 years old - for those of you who don't get that, it means I'm 32 1/2. And yes, I always count my half birthdays! I live in Atlanta, GA. Not so yippee. It's not that I don't like Atlanta, but I've lived here all of my life and know what a shit-hole it's turned into.

I'm married to a great guy and we've just passed our 8th anniversary. No children yet because my body refuses to cooperate. But I do have 2 nephews, a niece and a step-niece that I adore and love to pieces, and I get to see all 4 a lot more since the oldest 3 are in the custody of the father now.
I'm aspiring to be more than I am right now. I'm trying to grow out of my Southern Baptist roots in order to find a better spiritual path. I love reading Laurie Cabot and Silver Ravenwolf and feel their knowledge and understanding of religion is the path I wish to follow.
I'm currently in graduate school working on my Master's degree in Marriage and Family counseling. I'm busting my ass to make sure my GPA remains at a 4.0 and that I actually learn something from this experience, unlike my undergraduate program that didn't impress me.
I definitely don't want to dwell in Georgia for the rest of my life - especially since I know that much greener pasture exists in other places. Took a trip to Maine in October 2006 to have a look and decide if that might be a great place to move. Don't forget to check out the pictures below. Absolutely love it up there - now it's just trying to plan the move up there.
This MySpace experience has been great so far. I've met some interesting people and have gotten back in touch with some old friends. After 13 years since high school graduation, it's great to hear from old friends and see how much they have changed. I've been blown away by a few!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

My sister. My twin sister, actually. Though I'll have to die to do it.
I also wish I knew my grandparents better than I did. Don't get me wrong, we were very close. They practically raised me along side my parents. They lived two doors down and were my permanent babysitters. In the summer, I spent more time down there than at home. The type of relationship with my grandparents, however, was that of a child. As I've gotten older, I feel like I don't really know that much about my grandparents. My grandfather died in August 2001. He was a war hero. He survived the Normandy invasion (anyone seen Saving Private Ryan) as well as the Battle of the Bulge (from Band of Brothers). My grandmother passed away this year. She was raised during the depression. Married young. Was widowed before their frist child was born. And tried to make a new life for herself having very little resources. As me and my mom have been cleaning out their house I've gained a new respect for my grandparents. The things they've gone through and seen throughout history. It is just amazing. I look forward to the day that I can sit down and talk with them about their amazing lives.
