I am a software engineer for a control systems integration company. The job is demanding at times, but can be quite rewarding as well. When I'm not pushing keyboard buttons all day at work (yeah I know, how demanding!), you can usually find me out in the wilderness somewhere hiking an uncharted trail (and getting lost in the process) or out on the wintery slopes carving down the side of the mountain. Yup, the outdoors always beckons me with great enthusiasm! Check out my friend Dave's blog . I totally agree with his outlook in regards to the outdoors.
Instead of trying to describe myself, I feel it is a better idea to allow a friend of mine to share his thoughts about me. Dave wrote: "I am very picky about the people that I allow into my inner circle. People whom I consider my closest friends must have the right combination of sincerity, trustworthiness, intelligence, liberalism, an open mind, a thirst for adventure, and most of all an impeccable sense of humor. Hieu has become one of my closest and most beloved friends because he possesses an overabundance of every one of these qualities. We share our intense admiration for the outdoors, beautiful women, great movies, awesome music, and the other finer things in life!"

My Interests

Spring/Summer: Hiking, cycling, swimming, camping, going to the beach, anything outdoor related

Winter: Snowboarding, snowboarding, and oh yeah, snowboarding!

Exercising, weight lifting, tennis, basketball, football (go SC!), concerts, movies, reading, computers, traveling, anything not work-related (I spend enough time there as it is!).

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who owns a time machine. I'd definitely like to go back in time and change a few things if I could... Oh, and David Hasselhoff, cause he's awesome!

Music:

As my friends can attest to, I'm a self professed U2 -aholic but these groups aren't too shabby either: Depeche Mode, The Cure, Bob Marley, The Killers, Coldplay, She Wants Revenge, Massive Attack, Moby, Chris Isaak, New Order, Electronic, Smashing Pumpkins, The Smiths, Arcade Fire, Jack Johnson, OMD, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sting, The Police, and Q. Lazzarus(haha) just to name a few...

Movies:

Can't think of any in particular but Action, Sci-Fi, dramas, comedies, you name it... I like them all.

Television:

Don't watch much television but when I do, My Name is Earl, The Office, Heroes, Lost, and 24 are usually on the rotation.

Books:

Eh... do you really want to know all the technical books and manuals I read for work? The occasional suspense/ mystery/thriller novels usually peaks my interest though.

Heroes:

The San Bernardino County Search and Rescue Team for sure!
