About Me

I have been married to my 'college sweetheart' Ben for about three and a half years. We were together for about two of them since Ben is in the army and "duty calls." It most recently called in early May when he deployed to Iraq for a 15-month tour. We all miss him.
Our first son, Benjamin, was born in December. He is the center of my life as most babies become the center of their parents' lives. The last, but not least, member of the family is our adopted child, Betty. It makes no difference that she's hairy, walks on all fours and can't speak very well.
I've been living in Watertown, New York, which is close to Fort Drum, for three years now. Northern New York is nothing like NYC; we are half hour south of Canada and surrounded by farm communities. I've been lucky enough to find great career and investment opportunities here. It is a fast-growing town.
Our goal is to be successful property investors and hopefully we are on our way. We own a duplex and a three-unit. I am also the procurement administrator for a local construction company, and really enjoy what I do daily.

My Interests

Our Wedding Song: "Color My World" by Chicago

As time goes on
I realize
Just what you mean to me
And now,
now that you're near
Promise your love
That I've waited to share
And dreams
of our moments together
Color my world with hope
Of loving you.

I scored a 81% on the "How Minnesotan are you?" Quiz! What about you?

I'd like to meet:

Benjamin Dean Butz III

Music:

I love rock and roll. From the 90s I love Candlebox, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Sublime, Soundgarden, classic rock: Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, THE DOORS, Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top. As I get older I'm realizing a liking for soft rock like Michael Bolton. haha what a sap

Movies:

I love movies but unfortunately don't get to sit and enjoy them much any more. I don't like animated or fantasy movies. I do like thrillers and crime dramas, and comedies, but not usually romantic comedies.

Television:

How I Met Your Mother is the only show I try and reserve time for. It's hilarious! Marshall is the funniest actor. Then I'll watch the New Adventures of Old Christine after that, because Elaine from Seinfeld really cracks me up!

Books:

I have always loved detective mystery-fiction stories. In another life I would be a detective or criminal lawyer. I try to read Time, but don't have too much 'time.' I'd like to be a more avid reader of non-fiction books that have to do with current events.

Heroes:

People who work hard and accomplish a lot, not just for themselves but a bit for society as well.

August Movie Review

Young Frankenstein  A kooky movie, Gene Wilder is timelessly crazy and entertaining.  The silliness will raise your spirits (from the dead).  Sorry I couldn't resist. Private Ben...

July Movie Review

The Family Stone  Though probably better seen around the holidays, this movie was very touching.  The previews make it out to be a comedy and it does have its funny scenes, but it really is ...

NYC Fourth of July Weekend!!!

So a spur-of-the-moment trip was planned for three of us "single" girls (husbands all in Afghanistan) to frolic in NYC during a long weekend!  It was an awesome time that Trisha, Amanda and I had...
