As a second generation Dj and 1st generation Artist Young Rooky, at the age of 18, continues to hold his own. Edward Maurice Crosby jr. was born at the UIC hospital on january 27th 1990. Growing up around various music genres such as House, hip hop and R&B he became familiar with rhythm and music genres. His Family moved form the west side back and forth from places like calumet city all the way to Olympia fields, round lake and lansing , constantly trying to keep the kids around a better environment due to violence in the city and poor education. money was always a problem but he was raised to always have it in his pockets. At age 10 he was inspired first by the lyrical Eminem to start making his own music and along the way he picked up swag off other artist such as Nelly, 50 cent, T.I. daddy Yankee and many other artists. At age 13 he started to DJ for money to stay in a musical atmosphere and to research how people reacted to certain artist and records. at the same time he was mentored by his father Dj Ed Get-down Crosby, Farley Jack-master Funk, Damon Lamar, Ambassador Lee, Judahman, G Reality and AL Hot-mix Holmes. His first recorded song was called "Say What" produced by Farley JMF and sampled from 50 cent's hit single "In Da Club" later on thru his older adolescent years he has worked with a number of underground of artists and groups such as: Top Gunnaz J Phantom, MDK, Prive City, Diablito, Guhrillah Mocho, Deuce Kapone, Kali Co, Street, The League, New Era Chi, Mundaca Records, Valley Records and Violator DJ's. Rooky Has also been blessed with the consultancy of Bad boy superstar MA$E and Hip hop Legend Kurtis Blow, Johnny P, Do or Die. The Exclusive Beats are Produced by a number of street Producers who have supported Rooky for years. Black Magic was Rookys first producer and along came Kappa, Woo Kid, 2unez and Busy Body and now NKD Producers AK/Ka Beats and TB Darness(produced Geeked Up). Rooky and Dj Showtyme (Violator Dj's) crossed paths in 2006 at show in barrington IL, from that point on rooky continued to network and build with Dj Showtyme and eventually bridged with Yonas Hagos NKD. however before establishing an official affiliation with NKD records , Rooky spent a year under other organizations such as Villain Squad, GUF, and Mundaca. His Diverse Swag, Catchy Hooks, Bridges, and Lyrical Wordplay makes extraordinary chemistry with any producer's beat. Rooky is also Known for his intense Energy spurts while preforming on stage. Fresh out of high school and ready to hit the industry hard within the next few years.
