Add to My Profile | More VideosJesse "Da Undadog JMS" Smith was born in New Orleans, LA on December 26, 1981. The youngest of three siblings Jesse was introduced to hip hop by his brother at the tender age of five. As Jesse grew up he became more and more interested in the music and culture of hip hop. By the age of eleven he had written his first rhyme and was clearly on his way to becoming a respected mc in the culture. All through high school Jesse polished his skills by entering talent shows, showcasing parties, and just freestyling in his neighborhood with his boys. At nineteen Jesse began to focus on writing songs and real lyrics. He felt he had a voice that needed to be heard, and knew if he worked hard enough, he would be. He got his first chance to record in 2002 and pumped out a five song demo that was dope lyrically, but never considered for a deal.
He continued to write, record, and perform until July 31, 2005, when his life changed forever. Jesse had a son that day and realized that he wasn't living for himself anymore. He knew he had to provide so he decided to work harder (he is now a single father with full custody of his son). After Katrina hit Jesse came back to New Orleans and used some of his FEMA money to put out a mixtape. With his southern, yet cajun accent and unprecedented lyrics and wordplay, "Survival Tactics" was considered a hit with over one thousand copies sold and no advertisement(pure hustle). Da Undadog continues to hustle and will be releasing his full length LP in the near future. This man is determined, focused, and dedicated to hip hop and will stop at nothing to achieve what he has set out to do. Pay close attention cause Da Undadog is truly on da uprise."ya'll better watch me!"- Da Undadog JMS
