the only people for me are the mad ones...

About Me

i like to think I'm a pretty cool guy. I try to get the most out of life, appreciate all things, from the muttering drunk stumbling bleary eyed with craggy hand held up to block the 11am sun, to a lovely pollution induced sunset at venice beach (at least its good for something). I dunno, I guess to me all life can and should be appreciated. we owe it to ourselves to wring every last bit of significance out of the day. Friends would describe me as the guy who drives three hours at midnight to come "drink beer and pull wrists and talk til dawn." but that's life, i guess. I also seem to have a preternatural eerie luck that follows me everywhere, but that's a good thing. sometimes I wish I had more direction occupation wise; it's weird, i have plenty of ambition though. My ambition however is more directed toward improving myself in any way i can..like, i'd like to be the ultimate human being. just a standup individual! a swell chap. too bad there's no money in decency. I consider myself extremely moral, but this is a moral system i've more or less devised on my own. it's pretty cool, actually..I can smoke, drink, take drugs, have premarital intercourse, and still remain a nice, friendly, courteous, loving guy. Really, my friends, one musn't separate fun and holiness! seriously, try it. The two can co-exist. If i had to pick, I guess I'd be one of the Decadents from the late 19th century...ya know, produced great literature and art, frequented opium dens, went mad from absinthe, often flaunted their homosexuality in the face of society and prison sentences (i'm not gay, but i madly admire those who were back then (wilde, ginsberg). I do what feels good, and luckily what feels good to me rarely hurts others (it may offend their sensibilites or land me in hell, but fuck it). in fact, I really enjoy making others feel good, in many different ways. Giving the homeless dude a buck, maybe for a sandwich, maybe for a crack rock or steel reserve, whatever he likes. oh, and fuck apathy! especially feigned apathy! Sluts are cool (male and female)..they know what they like and are shameless in the pursuit of it. that's cool.

My Interests

wow. um..i like her, beaches, beaches at sunset, beaches at sunrise. i even like getting sand in my hair and inevitably my bed, sand that stays with you and won't let you forget the beauty that is the endless grains and swooping span of sky and water. i love meeting cool people, strange people, endless talks with mystic holy bums. i enjoy a drink or two. okay that's a lie! wine is lovely, preferably a petite syrah or primitivo. if we're talking liquor, i'll take a gin and tonic usually. i'm trying to get into straight scotch, but truthfully? i don't like it much. newcastle and sierra nevada are fine beers. books are quite possibly my favorite inanimate objects. literature of most kinds. poetry that "makes you so cold no fire can warm you." friendship is, I think, an amazing and vital organism that must be continually fed or it will die, taking you with it. i'm starting to like green tea a lot. eating is one of life's great pleasures. even better if you've cooked it. italian, thai, mexican, classic american, cambodian, it's all great. ants add a bit of spice to meals, and eating them with a twig makes me feel a kinship with my simian cousins. most of all i love experience. i love the senses, and i especially love satisfying them. art is beauty, it is the appreciation of beauty. and i think that beauty is good. it fascinates me. male and female and natural (but especially female...to gaze on a truly beautiful woman is to know god). like i said, i love new experiences..new states of mind, of perception, of thought. emotion and feeling reign supreme, intellectualization is great but overrated. sex is holy, truly holy i believe and a spiritual experience. i love it. i love love. given enough time, i probably love you. and YOU, I love YOU. you know who you are, you infant broaster... that's it for now..peace
