Hate the sin. Not the sinner. God has a BIG eraser and He's not afraid to use it!

About Me

Well I finally removed the candle that was burning for my bubs. He is back from Iraq but will be going back in Januaryish. I thank you Lord that you covered him with protection and kept his spirit renewed, you gave him strength to endure. I know he was safely in Your hands. Thank you for your love, your holiness, your grace, and your mercy. You were so faithful in answering our prayers. We love you!
This is my bubs, Doug!

I am a mother of two and share that joy with my wonderful husband, John. He's the love of my life. What God has brought together let no man separate. We reside here in Texas although we miss Colorado and our church family in Roswell, New Mexico very much. Some of the things I enjoy most in life are spending quality time with family, friends, and most of all my Saviour.
I love hugs and going for drives just to see new things. I would rather take a route I've never been before than to follow the same path twice. We have a beautiful country and I enjoy seeing as much as I can. I enjoy traveling and we hope to one day be able to do that full time.
I love to ride horses. It has always been a passion of mine. I spent a lot of time on a 2,000+ acre ranch growing up as well as riding with my uncles and cousins. I loved it and would enjoy going back to that lifestyle in the future. Pushing cattle (not tipping) is so relaxing and you can't help but take in the beauty of the mountains.
We own two dogs, an enormous chocolate lab (115 lbs.), well ok he only weighs (85 lbs now) Yay!!. And our most recent addition is Bandit. He is a mixed breed..more on that later. Our dog that we had for 12 years just recently passed away, March of '08, and that was a tough one to handle. God graced me with his love dealing with her loss although I have to admit it's still tough at times. Both of them have always been great with the kids. And it seems the puppy loves them too.
I enjoy doing crafts of many kinds. I scrapbook, do floural arrangements, cross-stich, crochet (mostly baby blankets). I like to color with the kids because it's very relaxing and it's nice to just lay with them and chit chat. I like to go for walks, go for motorcycle rides with John (or use to anyway), dine, shop, shop, did I say shop? Shoe sale? Did I hear shoe sale? No really I don't have to buy but I do enjoy shopping.
I like to observe people especially when I see someone who is happy, but I also get great satisfaction in lifting up those who are down or just listening when an ear is needed. I am a fun loving individual who is very giving. That's my spiritual gift.........giving. I enjoy listening to music and wonder what it would be like without it. I love to sing, didn't say it sounded good, but I love to sing praises with all my heart and that's what makes my Daddy happy! Yes my Saviour! He loves to hear me sing.
I like to chat with friends .. and love to hear from friends way back. I am a homemaker. I worked for a couple of years as a certified dental assistant. I enjoyed that field but am happy to be able to stay at home with our kiddos. I am finishing up a year of homeschooling my kids and that has been an eye opener for me. It's a joy to be able to teach them but it is also quite a challenge. I would enjoy learning web design and photography. Growing up I wanted to be a vet but was unable to follow through with that. God had other plans for me. Sometimes I wonder what that is.....lol j/k. I take it day by day, moment by moment. I am a sucker for animals. I probably would have taken too many in. My husband thought we had our own zoo here when we had two dogs, a hamster, a fish, and a frog. Well there ya have a little about me. How about you?

Ah for my most recent excitement in life.......you would have to read my blog titled 'deepest feelings' but if you don't enjoy reading blogs then hear this......I knew my dad as an infant through about 2 years. My parents divorced and I grew up with my mom (I know her pretty well haha as most of you)Kudos mom. I always had a burning passion to know my dad but never had the guts to call him. I feared rejection yet soon overcame that. As soon as I received my drivers license I bought a Father's Day card, grabbed a friend, and hand delivered it to him. I was welcomed in as well as welcomed to come back. It was a bit awkward being there yet it was a good feeling. I wanted to know him more. I made my way back, here and there, in the meantime getting to know two of my brothers pretty well. There are 5 of us (2 girls, 3 boys) ;-) and yes, I'm the baby lol. I got married and moved away yet when I came back I always made time to visit my dad, hoping to get to know him better. Well my last visit, or shall I say, this last vacation was the best ever. My dad opened up to me like never before and it has been the greatest feeling in the world. YES!! There is no looking back because I know this time it was 'him', the dad I've wanted to know since I was a little girl. It's often hard for people to open up, especially when they don't know you very well. I know this was a difficult decision for him to make but oh my gosh has it been amazing. To God all the Glory! And to you, dad, I can't say thank you enough! I love you!

There is one body … one God and Father of all,who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
(Eph 4:4-6)
Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you,but that you be perfectly joined togetherin the same mind and in the same judgment.
(1 Co 1:10)
It is all in your mind
Do you recognize that phrase? It speaks of a reality that we have all dealt with in one way or another. Perhaps your parents sitting with you and explaining that the monster under your bed does not really exist – it is all in your mind. The fears you feel are not based in reality. The feelings are real…but what is behind the fears is not. If you are tracking with me – then consider this:
There is only one body. That is what it tells us in Eph 4 above. The church or as we often and rightly call it: the Body of Christ – is one, there is only one. Sometimes Christians champion calls to unity, and rightly so – but one of the key issues is to recognize that the unity actually exists. There is only one body. All Christians are a part of that one body. The unity we want…actually exists.
The problem – it is all in our minds. We don’t realize, understand or even reject the truth. Now our rejection of the truth – does not change the reality.
It is again, like sitting with a child and explaining the truth that there are no monsters under the bed. If that child rejects that truth – the truth is still true – there are no monsters there. The problem is just in the child’s thinking.
Biblically, the truth for us is that there is only one body. Problems with that are not problems with reality…but problems in our thinking. That is why when Paul calls for unity in the church in Corinth – he says we need to be perfectly joined together in the same mind. The reality of unity is still there – it is just not grasped. Are you with me so far? If not, read the above again.
So, let us make this a little more personal. If you are a Christian – understand this – you are a part of the body of Christ. Right now you have a unity with every Christian in this world…every Christian in the past and in the future! Wow! There is only one body…and you are a part of it! You are called to recognize it. Your recognizing this unity does not create it…it is already there. Again, are you with me? It is important that you see this.
Lets us go even deeper. One of satan’s tactics that he uses consistently in Christians is to seek to isolate them. He seeks to make them feel alone, cut off, distant and more. Christians are created for unity – so in feelings of isolation satan has grounds of huge lies. But here is where I want you to understand – they are lies. If you are a Christian – you are one with the body of Christ. If you feel alone, if you feel cut off, if you feel separate, if you feel isolated – those are feelings…not reality – they are lies – not the truth. There is one body – nothing you do will change that reality.
A child who won’t accept the reality that there are no monsters under the bed – lives in fear, dread wrongly. His fears don’t change the truth – they just impact him in miserable ways.
Christian, if you persist in feeling you are alone – your feelings don’t change the reality….they just impact you in miserable ways.
Christian…if you feel alone…the problem is only in your mind. It is not real.
Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
(1 Co 1:10)

I love to sing and listen to music. Country is what I grew up listening to and is still one of my favorites although several years ago I was introduced to contemporary christian and praise and worship music. I can thank our wonderful friends for that. Thanks Ken and Sarah!!
I came to know the Lord at age twelve and am currently living my life for him. I love him with all my heart. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful children and currently reside in a suburb of Houston. My interests include studying the bible, camping, fishing, horseback riding, swimming, shopping, cross-stiching, crocheting, scrapbooking, pogo, chatting, working out and most importantly spending time with my family/church family.
When satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus can you get that for me?"! And he will.
