To encourage active participation in human relations research. To provide a link between business and education and enhance career path opportunities for college students. To provide access to services offered by PIHRA and SHRM to students interested in Human Resources as a potential career.

The Professionals in Human Resources Association, also known as as PIHRA, is an organization for Human Resource managers and students. District 7 is the Long Beach PIHRA chapter. The PIHRA organization provides interaction among Human Resources professionals and students within the state of California through monthly seminars, an annual convention, monthly newsletters, and professional workshops with discount rates for all students who are members.
