A Texan in the U.K

About Me

I am a musician and writer who is presently living in England. We live in a area called Ball Hill. It is a small village outside the town of Newbury. Newbury is 45 minutes west of London.

My Interests

Live music, good books, great pubs and honest people who speak their mind.

I'd like to meet:

Musicians interested in playing original or blues/funk orientated material. As a couple, we have close friends in the States. We are meeting a lot of new people here, and some of them will be in our circle of friends soon.

Music:

Blues, Funk and R&B. Anything that has is truly original sounding. I don't like hype or disco sounding music. I really hate anything with drum machines. I love Little Feat, The Neville Brothers, Delbert McClinton, Tommy Castro, The Mellow Fellows, Etta James, The Beatles, James Brown, Arch Angles, Storyville and the majority of the Texas blues sound. Will always support a group that can play well in a live setting.

Movies:

I love anything with special effects. Really enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies.

Television:

I don't watch any sitcoms or anything that has canned laughter. I like the Discovery and History Channel.

Books:

East of Eden, The Grapes of Wrath, The Old man and the Sea, A Tale of two cities, mostly the classics.

Heroes:

Socrates, Gandi and my wife
