About Me

Hey, everybody! I'm Magga- producer, composer, songwriter, arranger from Bulgaria. Finally here is my bio! :)) --------Magga was born in Russia. He is Daghestanian by origin and a musician by vocation. He started playing the piano and the violin when he was six, developing a strong devotion for arts in general. A graduate from a Russian High School of Art and Music, his lifetime passion remains the art of photography. Completed his military service, he left for Moscow to start his musicians career. Two years later, in the summer of 1990, he moved to Bulgaria. Luckily for many Bulgarian artists, he decided to settle down here. In 1995 he was introduced to Milcho Katzarov and wrote his first hit track for the producers daughter Teddy Katzarova, called ''Baby, Dont Hurt Me''. Only a few know that the song was actually written by a Bulgarian composer. Magga moved to the capital, determined to set in motion a serious songwriting career. He started playing in a band, called ''Bells Band'', whose other members were Tzvetan Nedialkov and Venelin Venkov ( guitars and drums in ''KU-KU'' band), Miroslav Ivanov (guitars in ''SAFO''), as well as Ivailo Zvezdomirov ( bass player in ''TE''). Back in those days there were only two live music venues in Sofia - "Swinging Hall" and ''Funky's Pub''. A year later, they were already having an average of twenty-eight live performances per month, when Magga decided to quit the band and dedicate himself to his other great passion songwriting. In 1996 he was offered a job at ''Hit-Music''- a professional high class recording studio, part of the ''Unison Holding''. The very first project he worked on, the Argirov Brothers ''The Best and The Latest'', gave birth to a single with a stunning success - ''It feels good''. In 1998 he founded together with his colleagues from Hit-Music Ivan Ivanov and Hristina Vancheva ''Black Peppers Studio''. Numerous hit tunes came out in the next couple of years, among which were five compositions for the first album of Maria Ilieva, entitled ''Moon dream'', not to mention the official singles ''Moon dream'' and ''Nothing'', which catapulted her into the spotlight; Magga contributed eight songs to Rushi Vidinliev's debut album ''From the other side'', including the indisputable chartbusters ''Away from you'', ''Il Ritmo Del Mio Cuore'' and ''Lie to me'' featuring Carla Rahal, as well as 3 new tracks to his second LP ''Independent''. At that time he did the arrangement for ''Yurudum'' a smash hit by the Bulgarias best pop act ''KariZma'', which was later included in various compilations in Turkey, Greece and the Scandinavia with worldwide famous artists such as Despina Vandi, Tarkan etc . He arranged another super hit by the duo ''Will I run away from you?''. In 2002 was released Santra's debut album entirely arranged, recorded and mastered by Magga at ''Black Peppers Studio''. In 2003 he wrote for the ethno pop singer Nina Nikolina the smash hit ''You'', which won the awards for best song of the year of the MM Music TV and the MeloTVMania music show of the Bulgarian National Television. The song gained a huge popularity and allowed the singer finally to be perceived by the audience as a serious solo act, and not just the back vocal of the famous showman Slavi Trifonov. The follow up, ''Ne moga'', rapidly exceeded the success of its predecessor and brought the singer the award for best female performer of the BG Radio. A song, named ''That one'', wrote and arranged by Magga for the teenage idol Rushi Vidinliev, first single from his third homonymous album, marked a significant progress in the young mans career and topped all the local charts in 2006. It did not take long for Magga to become a hit maker number one in Bulgaria and to put his signature under some of the most played and wanted songs, performed by artists like Irra, ''Antibiotica'', Peter Antonov, Ioana, the duo ''L.A.'', Galiya and Saten, Ava, Stratia, Nadia Boteva, Savina, Carla Rahal, Ruslan Mainov, Toni, ''Momcheshki Sviat'', Ann G, ''Stanioli'', Ianis, Lady B, Liusi, Vasil Naidenov, Cristina Dimitrova, Orlin Goranov, Margarita Hranova, Kamelia Todorova, duo Riton, Argirovi Brothers, Stefka Sabotinova, Lili Ivanova and many more. He won for two consecutive years (2003-2004) the award for Best Composer of the Year of the BG Radio, thus earning himself the reputation of a hit maker with a major influence over contemporary Bulgarian pop music. But his ambitions go way beyond writing popular music. Hes the author of music themes for the TV News (Bulgarian National TV) and the tv game Gold fever (BTV), as well as the music packages for GTV and CityTV. Hes credited the original score for the animated series for kids The summer of Gubelko (10 miniseries, production of the Bulgarian National TV), and the music for the Roberta Ballets show ''To find the way''. He created the themes for hundreds of video spots for the tv commercials of companies and brands such as Pepsi, Sprite, Fanta, Prisun, HVB bank, LZ, Lazzarin, Queens, Astera, VisaTel, VivaTel, Global Net, Office 1 Superstore,Capital Newspaper etc. So far he has written, arranged or produced over 400 pieces of music. His constant urge to grow up professionally made him establish in 2005 a new state-of-the-art studio in Downtown Sofia in partnership with a well known Bulgarian sound engineer Dimitar Ganchev-Mite (Mite & Fed). They called it ''Trinity Studio''. The first cut was Beloslava's latest album ''Listen to me''. In the mean time Magga continued his collaboration with Nina Nikolina as a result ''With eyes closed'' was born and its still climbing its way up the charts. Their recent projects include ''Expose'', Duo Mania, Lilana, Maria Ilieva, Santra, the solo debut of Liubo (''Te''), as well as the long-awaited Irra's new single to be released this summer, and the arrangement to ''I believe in you'' a song from KariZma's first album.
