Yea Mon! I am a "Ja-Merican", "Wasp-afarian" school teacher, wife, and mom. I have been teaching for 23 YEARS and I love it, and I love my students (well, most days anyway!) I teach Contemporary Issues/Current Events/ U.S. History, Government, and Economics at Sequoyah High School- the COOLEST school in the world (outside of Jamaica!) We listen to reggae music while we work and I have pictures of Bob Marley all over my classroom. I am from Alabama (Roll Tide) and graduated from THE University of Alabama with a Masters Degree in Secondary Education/History/Political Science. I have been HAPPILY married for 27 years and I have one TERRIFIC son, Christopher, who is 20. He attends MTSU and is majoring in History because he is smart like his mama! He is a brother in ATO Fraternity and he lives in an apartment with three other fraternity brothers and his dog, Kiera, at MTSU. He and my husband are BIG hockey fans! I am NOT. I love reggae music, traveling (Jamaica is my favorite place!), cats, my dog/child FARRIS, t.v., movies, reading, the sun, the beach, my friends ( especially my BFF- Kathleen Collins, who is my "sista"), Democrats, and Jesus. I hate getting up early. I do not like or understand racist people. I don't like people who are closed-minded. I do not like George Bush. I like keeping up with my students on Myspace! :) I am not going to let anybody or anything still my joy or peace!
