Instead of dwelling on who I will never get the chance to meet, I will tell you about the people that I wish I would have had more time with. My Grandma Johnson, the only woman I know who worked at a retirement home after she retired to still have shopping money. Apparently she was a wild woman before I came along. I would have loved to hear more stories. My Papa, who would always make me a special bowl of poke with no onions and make sure that the freezer was full of ice cream before we came to visit. He lived alot, loved alot and I will never forget him. My Grandma Makiya, one of the only adults that I was taller than. How can one little woman love that much? I hope I am just like her when I grow up. And all of my other family members who have passed on. They have left me with a legacy that is unsurpassed. I only hope that I can live my life with as much strength and pride in my roots.
