About Me

"My music has it’s own unique flavor. I call it "COFFEE"... In the late 80’s and early 90’s Hip-Hop introduced him to a shitty pair of turntables, a Radio Shack mixer and the art of doing "doubles" and "triples" with a couple of the same records. Hooked on the flourishing DJ culture, he made his way into parties at Palladium and Club USA, experiencing NYC night life way before it was legal for him to do so. The club scene opened his eyes to other forms of music, House and Techno sparked his interest. It wasn’t until he was first denied entrance without an ID at Limelight, that he stumbled upon the weekly rave scene starting to take place in NYC. A brand new yet familiar sound was surfacing, with strong breaks and heavy bass lines, laced with Reggae and Hip Hop samples, fused with Techno. Enter Jungle. In that instant Coffee was born.Determined to find a gig and eager to showcase the results of his dedication to practice, Coffee met Scorpion, and was offered an opening slot at his weekly party on Avenue. A. Influenced heavily by artists associated with early Metalheadz releases, his sound was sharp, technical and often dark. The common thread in his selection was a musical vibe, always moving the dance floor with fresh, new sets, including favorite tracks and unheard white lables to educate the crowd. Coffee went on to play well known venues all over NY, with nights and residences at Konkrete Jungle & Stamina, in places like the infamous Wetlands, Coney Island High & Pyramid. From the Cooler to S.O.B.’s, he could be seen at spots like Sound Factory, Tunnel, Twilo & the legendary CBGB’s, playing alongside the likes of Lemon D & Dillinja, Ray Keith, Bryan Gee, Source Direct, Ed Rush, Optical and Trace.Today Coffee spends most of his time committed to perfection in production. His tracks range from ground moving rollers to epic anthems, still with inspiration from House, old school Jungle, Hip Hop and Techno. The unmistakable Coffee sound is always fresh and innovative. As Drum & Bass continues to grow in popularity worldwide, be ready. You’ll find him at the top of his game, forever on the cutting edge. Coffee...
