About Me

"My goal is to explore new musical genres, breaking boundaries and preconceptions of present day music. I want to make music you can feel in your bones, full of honest passion, humor, spirituality, pain, joy, and love."
Originally from Seattle, WA, Roxy Coss has performed around the world, from Toronto to Paris, The Hague, Vienne, Montreux, and the JVC Jazz Festival in New York. She has appeared at the Blue Note with Clark Terry's Big Band, and on the Today Show Live at Rockefeller Center. Roxy has also played in such New York venues as Sweet Rhythm, and Jimmy’s Restaurant. Her performances are diverse, and she has appeared with artists such as the great jazz drummer Grassella Oliphant, Gospel musician Leon Lacey, and opened for Rufus Reid and the Dave Leibman Big Band. Roxy received a Presidential Scholarship to attend William Paterson University in NJ, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Music Degree in Jazz Studies - Performance. Now living in Manhattan, Roxy's main instruments include tenor sax, soprano sax, and flute. She is also a prolific composer, and you can hear her original compositions played by her quintet at 181 Cabrini on Monday Nights in Washington Heights.
