The band was born in 1997, as a result of the meeting of members coming from different bands of the italian late 80's underground area. These guys had a firm intention to create a band capable of producing a black metal supposed to be both mature and respectful of its own tradition.
Visthia released their first demo in 1999, catching the attention of many underground maniacs, without on the other hand hurrying the publishing of a debut album.
The time left has been used to further improve their sound, which turned completely personal in their second demo, dated 2001, and in their "Summa Alba Potentia" EP, dated 2002.
After a 3-tracks promo in 2004, the band has now recorded the debut album "Reditus Conscientia" for Solistium/Omvina Records.
The will to get past the obsolete clichés of black metal pushed toe band to melt the structures of its songs with some passages of pure dark ambient and of thrashing death industrial, getting them to the vanguard of a musical genre that is gradually getting its own shape.
The band is one of the few in the World who write their lyrics in ancient Latin.
