About Me
Born in Pickerington, Ohio on November 3, Brad McFarland is the youngest of four children (2 brothers and one sister).
Growing up, sports played a major part of his life, including games of football with his older brothers in the back yard being a favorite family pastime.
Brad's mother was the major musical influence in his life. He remembers many nights when he and his brothers and sister would go to bed listening to their mother playing piano. Brad also states with fondness, "Mom even landed a gig in a Chinese Restaurant! That is, until the restaurant closed!"He was encouraged as a Second Grader to take up a musical instrument, and his first choice was a piano. That lasted a month. Then at age eleven, his mom got him a "JC Penney" special guitar, and took lessons for three months. But you know kids, they don't want to practice!Music re-entered Brad's life when he was a freshman in college, and he spent hours quietly learning guitar chords. While still living in Pickerington, Brad and friends would go see singer, A.J. Angelo at different places around Columbus, Ohio. A.J. learned that Brad could sing, and would get him up to perform during the show. At that point, A.J. started encouraging Brad to start doing gigs of his own! Brad considers the relationship with A.J. a pivotal point in his life.Brad joined the Air Force and was sent to Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, where he continued to perform at nightclubs around Texas. His friends encouraged him to participate in the Base Talent Contest - he did and he won! He went on to compete in the Air Force Worldwide Talent Contest and won that as well! After completing his service in the Air Force, Brad moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a full time singing career.Brad has performed in and around Nashville for the last eight years and has played acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and keys for Kevin Sharp, Kelly Lang, The Memories of Conway Show, and countless other artists.Through his music, Brad hopes to not only entertain his audiences, but to also evoke the listener's emotions. He is energetic, fun, engaging, and just a little whacked! When asked what one thing he would like to accomplish before he dies, Brad said, "To have just one moment in my life that is so full of joy and so overwhelming emotionally that my body just can't handle it. That 'one moment' that truly defines who you are."
