If you keep playing, you never get old.

About Me

Living is delicious! I'm surrounded by people I adore. I have 2 jobs that I enjoy and have spare time to go out and play or get creative. I can scat and sing in my car when I'm in dense traffic or at a red light. I dance every morning when I wake up, and after I finish working at the physical therapy office. Some friends and I are bringing Fair Trade, a social justice movement that creates opportunities for people to improve their quality of life, to LA (I am the Fair Trade Monkey). I have a good pair of sandals that take me hiking or to the beach on the weekends. Basically, each moment is precious and I usually make the most of it.

My Interests

Jamming (the flow!), writing, activism/making a positive dent, hiking, gardening, massage/holistic health, dancing, basketball (though I always hurt myself..I keep coming back for more), stories, reality, people!

I'd like to meet:

People who are playful, affectionate and lighthearted, while being compassionate and passionate. Pleasantly imperfect and a bit quirky is a plus.

Music:

Soulful! Bob Marley, Nina Simone, Miles Davis, Norah Jones, Ozomatli, Paul Simon, Louis Armstrong, Sam Cooke, India Irie, Buena Vista, Jason Mraz, Gypsy Flamenco, Doug McCloud, Billie Holiday, Van Morrison, Israel Kamakawi'ole, Black Eye Peas, De La Soul, Beethoven, Emmylou Harris, Hot Buttered Rum String Band, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Spearhead, Queen, Sly and the Family Stone, The Supremes, Big Mama Thorton, Al Green, Otis Redding, Credence Clearwater Revival, The Cowboy Junkies, Toots and the Maytals, U2, Tchaikovsky, The Animals, The Beatles

Books:

Peace Is Every Step, Bless Me Ultima, Tortilla Flats, The Bean Trees, Welcome to the Monkeyhouse

Heroes:

My friends and co-workers who do great work and keep a delightful spirit alive and never hesitate to drop their pen and start playing. My summer camp co-counselor family who have been there with me through all of the harrowing and inspiring experiences at camp all these years. My family who are so different from me, are always there for me when I need them and remind me to be a more well rounded person. My dad, who even when he was dying of cancer was there for us and only wanted us to be happy. My old friends, with whom I never feel like I have to hold anything back, yet who are always very honest with me.
