You! the fans asked Nicoletta anything you wanted to know. Check out the Nicoletta Fan Interview:
Q: Why did you decide to stay under your real name and not a pseudonym?
A: I was never a fan of going under a different name. I really like my name and want to keep myself and my music as real and true as possible. Plus, it's a name you never forget.. or so I'm told.
Q: What was your most memorable show?
A: All of my shows are memorable and special to me, but a recent show I played 3/22, was definitely a show I'll never forget. There's no feeling like the crowd singing your songs at the top of their lungs. It's amazing. Something about that show just felt so incredible. I went completely psycho on stage and let go of everything inside of me. People made awesome posters and threw confetti all over the place during Melt My Plastic Heart. I was in a sold out arena show at MSG in my brain.
Q: When was your first show ever and how would you describe it?
A: My first show was when I was about 17. It was a lot of fun. Performing in general was fairly new at that point, but performing my own music was very new.
Q: When do you write best?
A: I am the first to be sickly thankful for anything that has ever gone wrong in my life. The absolute best of me comes out when things are at their worst or when I'm frusterated with a situation. Yet, at the same time, my song "Like A Movie" came out of complete impulsiveness. I was at a really good place in my life and I was just poking fun at all the drama and nonsense that surrounds me at times. Mixed all that in with my insane imagination and how I'm always feeling like everything in my life is part of a movie scene. Ridiculous, out of control, and full of humor. "Thanks for keeping my life interesting. Feels like a movie prone for disaster. Cause nothing can go smoothly, and I just can't do anything right."
Q: What does your album title "Secluded Hearts of Plasteek Gold" represent?
A: I love answering this question. I took the word 'steek', which means to sew back together and fix, and tied it into 'plastic'. I envisioned a heart, half plastic, half gold, held together by a seam of thread. It represents a human being. It's easier to break through plastic, than it is gold. That represents the opposites that make a whole. We're weak, but we're strong - etc. It's okay to be a real person. We're all human. So Always Be YOU.
Q: How do you imagine your success?
A: I want to be Number One. I want to be an inspirational Pop artist with a message. I've got tons of messages that I'm vocal about at shows. I want to bring REAL music back, with true meaning! I see myself making it to where I want to be. I'm very persistent and driven. I won't settle.
Q: As an artist, people believe that you are to be a role model. What are your thoughts on that?
A: I definitely think being a role model is very important. I hope to inspire people to do and be better. I think the world needs more positivity and I'm FULL of that.
Q: How many songs have you written?
A: A milllionnnn. And I've got bits and pieces with potential all over the place. A room full of 853453469456 journals and notebooks full of my thoughts. As far as lyrics go, I've got 30 albums worth.
Q: When did you write your first song?
A: I started writing when I was about 15, but the first real song I ever wrote was "Alone". I was about 17.
Q: How old are you? Whens your birthday?
A: I'm 20! August 11, 1987
Q: Which lyrics of yours are you most proud of/like the most?
A: There are quite a few...
"I'm tempted to wear the white shirt in a crowd of yellows. We're bright, but I'm brilliant." - Calling out
"I would give you my last breath underwater." - Melt my plastic heart
"I'm the architect of our future, and I promise the sun." - Picture predictable
"I'm on repeat. I'm the CD that skips, but the words biggest hit. I'm the kid in the candy shop but I've got too many cavities."
"My foot to the cracks in the sidewalk. Eyes to the signs 'bove your head. Mind to my pockets deepest, undeniable secrets."
Q: What instruments do you play?
A: I play guitar! A smidge of piano.. I took about 5 or 6 drum lessons so I can hold the simplest beat ever. I played violin for about 7 years too.
Q: What kind of movie would you like your songs to be in?
A: Cool question. I feel like each song could be in a different kind of movie. I could see Alone in some sort of inspirational film. I wrote a song called "Simplicity" that could fit any Romantic type of movie.. I think my songs could fit any in depth and meaningful storyline..or even something fun and crazy.
