About Me

“If my sexuality was as eclectic as my taste in music and my strange mix of influence was my dream date I think I would be a fairly mixed up and suicidal individual... luckily I am not a real person at all and neither male nor female. I will die smiling like Mona Lisa. You will never know if I meant it but I will always look you straight in the eye. Xavier Floyd Firebird...”Xavier Floyd Firebird released their debut single “boss man, you scare me” in January 2005 with a series of excellent reviews as well as plays on Zane Lowe (winning the fresh meat section) and XFM, performing live for the latter at their launch in Manchester. After two successful tours and a second single ready to go, the band were forced into the unfortunate position of having to find a new drummer. With no joy in the UK brothers Danny and Paul Floyd decided to re-camp to Paris for a few months in order to see what was available out there. A chance meeting with Canadian born Metro, ex of Ozric Tentacles, who just happened to be in France in order to submit a new visa application for the UK, led to the current line up being finally completed.Danny and Paul grew up first in Zambia and then New Zealand, before coming to the UK as teenagers and Metro is from Canada and grew up in Minneapolis, USA

We know that as a band we should be putting down names of obscure stuff that you've never heard of but we didn't write this, Xavier wrote it...

Sounds Like: "Raw, Dynamic, Epic, Sexy and Angry"- Jase Burns, Kerrang Radio.Xavier Floyd Firebird - Press Quotes "Exciting times lay ahead for Xavier Floyd Firebird, not only have they got one of the best band names..ever, and their debut release "boss man you scare me" is one of the most original records in recent years, two minutes and forty six seconds of sheer brilliance. Mark my words "boss man you scare me" will be filling indie club dance floors up and down the country & will go ballistic on the alternative music radio & TV channels. This is exactly how all records should sound... raw, dynamic, epic, sexy, angry with the extra added spicy passion....what more can you ask for?"Jase Burns, Producer 'Incoming' on 103.2 Power FM (Capital Network Radio)"Variety; spice of life and all that. Strange grafting of punk, acoustic and emo that blossoms brilliantly. Chugging guitars, massive orchestral movements and soaring keys, great, lilting, multi-layered vocals and complex arrangements make this both intriguing and essential."Theo Berry: Decode Magazine. www.decodemedia.com"Their trick is angsty, twisted indie with a smattering of gravely Cable-esque shouts. Moments of Muse, blended with The Cooper Temple Clause and chopped up with Stooges influences ? Xavier Floyd Firebird have some incredibly catchy hooks and instantly memorable tunes."www.drownedinsound.com
