WR (Without Reason) is the 72-page book that’s proving to be a great reason to get excited about art this winter.
Capturing the works of graffiti artists, painters, designers, illustrators, photographers and tattoo artists from Australia, America, Canada and the United Kingdom, this limited-edition book is dedicated to the roots and lifestyle of street culture.
WR has an impressive line-up and includes credible names like Ricky Powell, Mike Giant, Travis Millard, UPSO, Brendan Monroe and many more, each featuring their unique style on a full page spread.
The concept for WR emerged from two Sydney based artists / designers, Elliott Routledge and Paul Tooth, who were both sick of art books with too much text and not enough visuals.
“We started this project because we were bored with art books that explained too much instead of showing what’s really important - the art. So we focussed on the art, and gave each artist free reign to contribute whatever they wanted, without explanation. That way the work speaks for itself.â€
WR will be dropping into all good book stores across Sydney and Melbourne, and selected stores in London, New York, LA and Tokyo. But with only 1,000 copies being published, there’s a good reason to get in quick.
