WE LOVE BACON!!!!

About Me

The Gloryholes first started making music in February 2000. They played their first show the following June opening for the White Stripes and they’ve been going non-stop ever since. To date they have one 7” out on Dirtnap Records and two full length LPs, “Knock You Up” on eMpTy Records US and “Want a Divorce” also on Dirtnap. They put out a split 7” with the Fliptops on Johnny Cat Records and are featured on the “Dirtnap Across the North West” comp.
Known for their wild live shows (the lead singer has been known to give himself concussions) The Gloryholes are a tight, hard driving, rock’n’roll juggernaut careening through the American pop culture/music scene with wry humor and dead-on social commentary. The influences are too wide and varied to list but they wear them proudly, drawing inspiration rather than merely rehashing and spitting out what has been done before.
The Five members of the band are a mix of veterans and new comers. This gives their music a perfect mix of tight, well written songs, played with the energy and excitement of someone playing punk rock for the first time. Lead singer Doug White is a veteran of the Seattle punk scene. He has been in a number of bands and most recently fronted garage punkers The Sinister Six. Chris Kenan hails from Arizona where he played with the Nova Boys, among others, before moving to Seattle. Chris is a versatile guitar player who mostly prefers to “grip it and rip it” when it comes to rockin’ the riffs. Drummer Eric Fenner is back in the fold after a brief stint with The Ones. Someone once commented, “When Eric plays it looks like he’s beating someone to death.” Guitarist Shelly White and Bassist Melanie Belanger are the bands two rookies. Shelly is one Midwestern girl who knows how to write a mean, hip shakin' rock riff, and has the attitude to be able to play them with the ferocity and swagger that they demand. Melanie started playing bass with the formation of the band but you’d never be able to tell that from the way she plays. Her lean, thundering, bass lines provide the glue that holds everything together.
There you have it ladies and gentlemen, The Gloryholes, a band that truly delivers the goods. Shout “HALLELUJAH” motherfuckers! Now let’s rock!
