I'm a compulsive book buyer. So I have a very small personal library made up mostly of books I haven't even read yet. But I plan to...on that proverbial "someday in the future when I have more free time."Emily Dickinson (both poetry and personal letters), Virginia Woolf (particularly The Waves), Thomas Pynchon, Cormick McCarthy, Laurence Sterne, Ian McEwan, Gertrude Stein, Iris Murdoch, Jane Austen, Umberto Eco, Milan Kundera, Jeannette Winterson, J. M. Coetzee, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Leo Tolstoi, John Kennedy Toole, Vladimir Nabokov, Tom Stoppard, Samuel Beckett, and William Faulkner....Poetry: Bin Ramke, Anne Carson, Claudia Keelan, Susan Howe, John Ashbery, Philip Larkin, W.B. Yeats, William Blake, John Milton, and John Donne.... Philosophy: mostly existentialism and post-modernism. Highly respect Kierkegaard, Sartre, Husserl and Heidegger; LOVE Nietzsche and Derrida (can I say Spurs is amazing?); absolutely ADORE Cixous and Irigaray (Ethics of Sexual Difference changed my life)...also like Foucault, Levinas, Caputo, Butler, Grosz, Marion, Ricoeur, Gadamer and Wittgenstein. DO NOT LIKE Descartes, not as impressed as I should be with Hume or Kant. And I hate analytic philosophy.Sundry/misc. = Grimm's Fairy Tales, Adventures of Alice/Through the Looking Glass, Sherlock Holmes, Narnia Chronicles, and LOTR trilogy/Hobbit, anything by Dr. Seuss or P.D. Eastman (Go, Dog, Go!), any Frog/Toad adventures, all Berenstain Bears...I'll think of more later...
