About Me

Twenty-something writer, journalist and jewelry designer living in the American West with too many books, cats, beads and amphibians. I'm the writer of several published or forthcoming books including The Tale of the Miller's Daughter, Owl Skin (Papaveria Press, 2007), Ossuary (Sam's Dot, 2007) and Death Masks (Papaveria again!). I've had several short stories and poems appearing in print and online in such publications as Star*Line, Cabinet des Fees, Mythic and Byzarium. I'm also a contributor to Random House's The Full Spectrum, an anthology of writing from GLBT youth and their straight allies. In my spare time, I also edit anthologies. One of them, Sleeping Beauty, Indeed is up for a 2007 Spectrum Award. In a former life, I was a dramaturg. Every now and then I get the urge to edit a play, even now.I'm a consumate fan of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and desperately wish I could put one of his songs in my profile. For the full effect, just pretend you're listening to "The Mercy Seat" or "Where the Wild Roses Grow" now...or, just pretend you're listening to Johnny Cash (who actually did a cover of "The Mercy Seat"). Either works. I also like mangos, pretzels, asian food and soy milk (though not necessarily in that order or all in one sitting).I also have more than a passing affection for monsters and am an out and proud nerd. Most of my entires here are geeky little ramblings on my day, on publishing and the theatre, or on a number of arcane little things.Anything else you wanna know? Just ask.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Strange, wild and fascinating people who read, who love, who feel and think in ways that are a little bit out of the traditionally sized "box".

My Blog

Wow so it’s only been a year

This MySpace thing still totally baffles me (I'm so much more a LiveJournaler, old thing that I am). But welcome! Welcome to all the people who have added me recently. Now that I'm getting a bunch of ...

Ok, Ok. I'll get with the times and start using this thing.

For the record, I still find MySpace confusing and not as user friendly as LJ, but there you go. I'm sure my protest has been noted. Anyway, I'm JoSelle. I write books and poems. Sometimes they are ab...

Jo's on the MySpace!

Woah. Did you lot read the Boondock's comic where Huey's grandfather gets a MySpace account and asks his grandson for help? I wish Huey were here for me right about now. Come on! I'm old! I'm used to ...
