About Me

As Dog Mom to two deaf Great Danes & a German Sheperd, I can truly say that "size matters!" The other way that size matters is when referring to the size of one's heart and compassion. I speak my mind but also mind what I say. I'll go to the ends of the earth for the people I care about; but run for the hills from the emotionally, mentally and spiritually deficient. I love to laugh but also enjoy a good cry now & then. The series finale of Six Feet Under works like a charm when I need to get the tears flowing. I recently gave up red meat and pork, and after running out of ways to cook chicken and turkey, gave them up as well. I'm on time, as long as there's free parking close by. I'm blessed to look at least 10 years younger than I am, but also LOVE the wisdom, maturity and sexual freedom of getting older. I know the difference between lust & love, and believe I should have both in my life. That said, Bad Boys are good, Good Men are even better!

My Interests

Depends on which way the wind blows, but one thing that's constant is my love for my canine companions. Click on the link below to view the profile of one of my Big Three... Mr. Titan... "His Tightness" if you're nasty! At two years old, almost 200 lbs and only 1" shorter than the World's Tallest Dog, he's graced websites, been featured in magazines, is one of the subjects of an upcoming coffee table book and worked the red carpet like a pro. Click on his picture to leave him a comment and get on the friends list of this TRUE Rock Star!

Music:

I dig all types of music, as long as it makes sense. Examples of music that don't make sense to me are disjointed jazz, gangsta rap, screaming punk songs where you damn near have to play that shit backwards to understand the lyrics and any boy/girl band that is the product of studio enhancement and media hype as opposed to hard work and true talent. As for live shows, you gotta play good music AND be good people to get me up & out. Right now my dance-card is filled favorites & friends Heavy Mojo & The Ruse!

Movies:

In no particular order of importance: Aliens (1 & 2); SAW; Green Pastures (old film, about how folks in a small, southern town cope when all their slaves mysteriously disappear for one day); La Femme Nikita (subtitled version, obviously); The Naked Truth; Easy Rider; Pulp Fiction; The Unbearable Lightness of Being; Clerks; Brotha From Another Planet; One False Move; Thelma & Louise; Midnight Express; Training Day; Lord of the Rings Trilogy; L.A. Confidential, Tin Men; Midnight Cowboy; Blade; Night of the Living Dead (the original still scares me!); 28 Days Later (zombies... on speed!); King Pins; To Sir, With Love; Jaws; 9 1/2 Weeks; The Usual Suspects; Blow; Resevoir Dogs; Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown; Boogie Nights... the list goes on...

Television:

I think I'm the only person in Atlanta without cable, but ... "24" (friends in the know know not to call my house Mondays from 9 - 10 PM!); The Sopranos; How The Grinch Stole Christmas (thank you, Pat, Paul and Jeff for taking time out of law school finals to watch this with me every season!); Seinfeld; any news commentary/debate (can't have enough information after the debacle that was the last Presidential election); Lost; Nip/Tuck; The Shield; Veronica Mars; Six Feet Under; It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!; Rescue Me; Deadwood; X-Treme Sports/Freestyle Motocross; Angel; Buffy (yeah, I said it...); all animal shows (except for Animal Cops, which makes me very sad and VERY angry)... hell, I was even hooked on Professional Bull Riding... ONCE... A LONG TIME AGO... ok, last year...

Books:

Currently writing two books of my own which, if all the folks who are pressing me to finish them actually BUY them, will be best-sellers. Don't read other's works while I'm in the process, but stand-outs from the past include: Perfume, The Roaches Have No King, Watchers; Stephen King's early works, To Dance With The White Dog; Interview With The Vampire, most erotica, including The Erotic Comedies; The Beauty Books (Anne Rice's take on the genre... not too shabby), 9 1/2 Weeks (actually better than the movie, which was pretty damn hot!) and My Secret Garden (proof that truth is indeed stranger than fiction).

Heroes:

My Mom... widowed at 23 as the result of a car accident and STILL able to instill in me and my sister the value of education, the joy of world travel and the self-respect, confidence and joie de vivre necessary to love responsibly, deeply and completely. My friends, who consistently inspire and challenge me to be, do and feel more and who remind me that my path has and always will be the high road and that not everyone can or deserves to come along for the ride. And , finally, my canines Diego, Titan and Ari (rest in peace, Dante & deSade)... actually... ALL DOGS... 'cause they too often see the worst in 'humanity' but somehow, some way, find it within themselves to trust and believe again. Without agendas or subplots... they are, without a doubt, the very definition of "keeping it real."
