Cult ClassiC

About Me

Myspace Contact TablesGenre-bending group Cult ClassiC is continuing its (so far) three-year stint of touring, this time supporting the 2008 release of its third album, “I Thought Hell Would Have Better Music.” “Get Gone” is the lead single from the album, and it’s anything but hell. Fusing emotive pop, a dash of punk brashness, raw rock energy and even hip-hop flow, the song offers broad appeal in a mix of styles that merge without a hiccup. Pop rock melodies and lean punk aesthetics provide the base for this cocktail of heart and attitude, with rap flavored injections bringing a surprising spice to the sound. The song is a warm but sarcastic take on the mindless drama of high school. Its theme, the upbeat vibe of the song and Cult ClassiC’s willingness to shake things up with a subtle yet startling hybrid of flavors stand as an introduction to the coolness unfolding on the rest of the album. Cult ClassiC got together in 2005 under the band’s original name, Take Action, which consisted of the talents of Sean Bruegger, Cory Bullard, Bryan Peterson and Rick Warner. The current line-up is “Sic-Boy” Sean Bruegger (lead vox & guitar), “Manikins” Manny Chacin (lead guitar & vox), Zack Nagel (bass) and “Crandle Sauce” Randall Kuhlmeyer (drums & vox). The band quickly built a fan base thanks to the group’s pop-alt punk-hop approach and an incessant urge to take the stage. Previous albums are “Payola” and “Director’s Cut.”
