I don't regret the things that I do, only the things I don't do.

About Me

Family always comes first for me. I love learning period. Especially learning anything and everything about history and discussing/analyzing current social/political events.

My Interests

Tu y tu, and you.

I'd like to meet:

Im here to meet new people with different and varied interests from all walks of life and from all over the world. Especially ARTISTAS. My hobbies are always changing but writing & reading are a constant. If you're fun, sincere and have a certain point of view, I'd like to hear it. I'm into all kinds of music, literature, languages, cultures and ways to live a more positive life. I love to cook. I put some poems on my blurb. This is a work in progress . . .

Music:

From Led Zeppelin to Nirvana, from Marvin Gaye to Mary Wells, from the Smiths to PJ Harvey, from Tattoo Ink to Psycho Realm, from Bauhaus to Jaguares, from El Coyote Y Su Banda to Julieta Venegas and all the flavors in between.

Movies:

Anything & everything from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. Mostly independent film with social commentary I find satisfying.Favorites: Old Boy; BABEL; Chi-hwa-seon; Sin City; To Live; Pan's Labyrinth, "300"; "Black Snake Moan" and I am looking forward to "Grindhouse".

Television:

HBO: ROME, The Sopranos and Deadwood; Regular TV: The Office and 30Rock. The History Channel, Discovery, Food Network and Travel Channel are all great sources of learning for me.

Books:

NAUSEA by Sartre; everything by Sandra Cisneros, Villasenor, Doestovsky, and Garcia-Marquez; poetry by Octavio Paz. Most life-impacting book: The Autobiography of a Brown Buffalo by Oscar Zeta Acosta. And I'm a Series of Unfortunate Events fan. And now travel books, like Lets Go and Lonely Planet.

Heroes:

My Mom and all the people who had the courage to face injustice and adversity throughout history.

Movie: black snake moan

Watch it if you get a chance.  It has a deep emotional meaning to it, not just superficial sex subjects.  It didn't disappoint me and I've been waiting for it for ages.
