The Cover-Ups!

Rude Girls!

About Me

The Cover-Ups! were an 8 piece, all girl ska/rocksteady/reggae band from Los Angeles, California that existed from 1998 to 2000. Due to their diverse musical backgrounds, their sound included elements of traditional and 2Tone ska, rocksteady, reggae, and soul. Being all women, they brought a uniquely feminine touch to these genres, especially with their lyrics and sweet vocal harmonies. This, along with the melodic horn lines and a steady, strong rhythm section contributed to their distinct sound. The energy of their live performance and their catchy original songs made everyone want to get up and dance! Their 1960’s fashion sense added to their visual charisma, completing the style unique to The Cover-Ups!
